What Are The Benefits Of Airbags With And Without Internal Jounce Bumpers?
Updated 10/16/2025 | Published 10/13/2025 >
Question:
I’m now thinking I should have ordered the version of this with the jounce bumpers built in - what are the consequences of not having these? Can I buy these as an add on or do I need to ship the entire unit back and buy the “Ultimate” kit

Hey Steve,
The AirLift airbags with internal jounce bumpers are not able to be added to a system without so you would need to get a whole new system. With that said the system with the internal jounce bumpers is going to create a much rougher ride unloaded than normal airbags would. Typically I only recommend a set of airbags with jounce bumpers to someone who has their truck loaded full time, like a service truck or truck bed camper. If you are just towing a trailer I would just recommend the normal kit like # AL57365.
What are you doing with your truck? Figuring out what you are going to be towing or doing with the vehicle can help determine what would be a better route too.

Ok, thanks for the advice. Most of the time I will not be hauling, I’m just occasionally towing a camper trailer. I’ll stick with the 57365 (although I would prefer the stainless air lines in the nicer kit).
