Features to know about

Effortless Installation Every Time: No-Weld, Bolt-On Design

Installing a trailer hitch can seem daunting, especially if welding is involved. Luckily, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver comes with a no-weld, bolt-on design, making it incredibly user-friendly. You can simply bolt it onto your vehicle's frame with the complete hardware kit included. It’s as straightforward as plug-and-play, allowing even the most novice DIYer to install it in no time.

Unbeatable Rust Resistance: Gloss Black Powder Coat Finish

Rust can be a real enemy to maintaining hitch integrity and appearance. That’s where the gloss black powder coat finish of this receiver shines. With a durable finish over a protective base coat, this hitch is designed to resist corrosion and look sleek on your vehicle for years to come, ensuring your gear stays in top-notch condition through all weather conditions.

Optimized Cargo Capacity: Weight Distribution Compatibility

Ever find your vehicle bogged down from uneven trailers? The Curt Hitch tackles this with a feature that supports weight distribution systems. This means a towing capacity of up to 5000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of up to 500 lbs, reducing sway and balancing your load more effectively for smoother rides, providing peace of mind and improved fuel efficiency on long journeys.

Vehicle-Specific Precision Fit: Custom Design for Optimal Performance

Not all hitches are created equal, especially when it comes to fitting your specific vehicle. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is custom-fit for specific models like the Toyota Sienna, ensuring a precise, snug fit that enhances towing performance and safety. This precision fitting reduces installation headaches and ensures your hitch works perfectly with your vehicle's design.

Versatile and Heavy-Duty: 2 Inch Receiver Opening

A hitch should be as versatile as your needs, and that’s why this 2-inch receiver opening is game-changing. It’s the most common size, perfect for a range of hitch-mounted accessories like bike racks, cargo carriers, or ball mounts. This versatility ensures that no matter what adventure you’re embarking on, your hitch can handle the load.

Made to Last: Fully Welded Sturdy Steel Construction

Durability is key, whether you're on the open road or parking in the driveway. This hitch features robust, fully welded steel construction, designed to handle the rigors of the road. Its sturdy nature ensures reliable performance no matter the conditions, setting you up for years of dependable towing.

Maximum Towing Support: 3500 lbs Gross Trailer and 350 lbs Tongue Weight

When it comes to towing, capacity matters. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver offers impressive strength with a maximum gross trailer weight of 3500 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 350 lbs. This dependable capacity allows you to tow small to medium-sized trailers confidently, offering a powerful solution for your towing needs.

Excellent quality. This is the second hitch we purchased from Curt. They’re durable, and installation’s a breeze. In total, from start to clean up, the time was 75 minutes - and I was taking my time. I installed this on our ‘22 Toyota Sienna XSE, and although the receiver is directly underneath the kick sensor which automatically opens the rear hatch, it did not preclude us from still being able to activate it. This was a concern of mine since both hands are usually full. It’s held up just fine over the past year, primarily lugging around our 4-bike Thule rack.

Decent hitch and installation is easy. I will be going with the more expensive hitch in the bumper soon as this hitch drags the ground both with and without a trailer. The issue seems to be the ride height in the van is not tall enough to avoid this without additional modifications where the hitch mounted in the bumper cover would not have this issue.

by:

Great hitch though slight inconvenience with it. Installed to replace factory hitch. Factory hitch has mounts for clean wiring harness placement and this hitch does not. Other than that super easy installation, very happy with it though would be happier if there were mounts for clean wire harness placement.

I installed this on a 2025 Sienna Woodland. I removed the factory 1-1/4” hitch to install this one because I don’t have anything that uses 1-1/4” hitch.

The Bad:
The box was damaged pretty heavily when I received it, there were deep gouges on some parts of hitch receiver. While installing 2 of the bolt holes (the holes closest to the front of the vehicle on the driver and passenger side) were about 1/2” too narrow. I confirmed this by measuring the distance between the holes and comparing them with the factory hitch that I took off the vehicle. The factory hitch fit perfectly with no struggle. I was able to get the hitch installed by bending the farthest forwards parts outwards just enough to get the bolts in. The install ending up taking 2 hours due to this. Without difficulty it would’ve been about 45 minutes, including the time it took to take off the factory hitch. The hitch hangs about 1” lower than the factory hitch and 2” lower than the exhaust tip, which is the lowest part in the back, reducing the clearance of an already low vehicle.

The good:
etrailer offered a $20 discount for the condition of the hitch I received, which brought the price down to $188. Once the hitch was (finally) on it looks good on the vehicle, the factory hitch was chunky and odd looking. I didn’t have to trim any parts of the vehicle for it to fit, everything was bolt on. I didn’t even have to jack up the vehicle. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The hitch is overbuilt and has a 5000lb rating, which is more than the 3500lb rating of the Sienna, while also being significantly lighter than the factory hitch. The factory hitch weighs 78lbs and the curt hitch weighs 38lbs. The 2” receiver is more useful than the 1-1/4” receiver on the factory hitch.

I gave this hitch 4 stars because of the difficulty of the install and because it hangs pretty low. The condition of the hitch upon receipt was offset by the already low price and the discount offered by etrailer. Although, it is possible the holes didn’t line up due to damage to the hitch at the wharehouse or shipping.

Thank you, customer service and response are excellent. The wiring is not four (4) feet. I cut off the van's female connector to splice the wires. I'm not sure why the wiring harness does not include the male connector as shown in the video.

by:

Great experience. Easy to find the right hitch on etrailer, easy checkout, good comms on shipping status. Arrived in good shape - minor damage to box to be expected for a heavy item. etrailer install video was detailed and super helpful on how to install. Just followed the video instructions, less than an hour for a retired senior working alone to install.

by:

I some how got the wrong one ordered the first time. I emailed and called they got me the correct one right away. restock fee reduction , but otherwise great. install and paperwork instructions straight forward. my bolt holes were rusty despite being plugged and the exterior cover. So, I had to use one of the bolts with penetrating fluid gently back and forth until it went in smoothly. used antiseize on bolts for install. Great product, great service, would recommend for any diy'er.

The hitch looks great, Don! What are you going to use your hitch for?

by:

This is our second Curt hitch receiver. It was easy to install and the videos were helpful. No lift. No jacks, but I did back up the van on the slight rise leading up the driveway sidewalk which brought the back of the vehicle up a few extra inches. I would not have been able to get under the van had I not done this. My sons helped me hold it in place to get the first bolts in. I would not have been able to do install the receiver without their help. Before trying to install, thread all six bolts into the frame. The two closest to the bumper are at a slightly different angle than the other four.

Awesome hitch a little difficult to install just me and the wife had to use the Jack and a support to kind of hold the hitch

by:

True fit for our 2024 Toyota Sienna. Installation was easy and took us less than an hour to unpack it from the box, access the areas in our van and bolt in. The diagram for modifying the panel undercarriage was spot on. Easy Installation with all hardware included. We had the pullers for the plastic fasteners for the interior panels. The ground wire was the only thing we had to buy hardware for. Under 2$ not a big deal for us. We didn't want to drill a hole for the wire so we will purchase a sacrificial wire to be closed in the hatch when we use a trailer. It's not an everyday task so it won't be necessary to make a permanent wiring in the frame.

Your packaging of the product for shipment definitely needs improvement. This is the 2nd hitch we have ordered from etrailer and they both arrived with the box torn open with scratches on the hitches. Other than the poor packing of the hitch, the hitch is great and looks great on our 2023 Toyota Sienna LE. Super simple to install and works great for my Thule bike rack. Your videos on installation are so nice to refer to when installing the hitch. Thank you!

by:

Omg, this trailer hitch was so easy to install on my 2025 Sienna Platinum. Has the Etrailers video shows, the bolt holes are already in place and threaded on the van. You just simply lifted up and bolted on once you've taken out the little caps from the frame bolts. I did it myself by propping it up on a box but it would have been much easier with two people to help wrangle it into place. It was honestly the easiest trailer hitch I've ever installed. I also installed the Curt for wire trailer connector and it was super simple to install and works great as well. The Etrailer really has their act together on this stuff

2024 Sienna XLE install. Great product. Fits snugly. Does not hang below other parts of the undercarriage chassis. Relatively easy install by myself, using box to support opposite side. Trimmed panel fit perfectly. Best part is it maintains the foot auto rear hatch function. Instruction video perfect!i. Used Tekonsha wiring 118824 and worked slick. Attached relay box with small matchine screw above small cover (see photo) which allows access (if ever needed) to the fuse without pulling side panes off again. Routed trailer wiring out bottom of panel so it stores in the existing side pocket. This is my third hitch from Etrailer. All went in easily!!

Trailer hitch came bent and did not align correctly. Had to use a jack to correct bent piece to be able to align holes and get it installed.

by:
2021 Toyota Sienna

No hardware included. Great customer service sent the hardware quickly!

The hitch flexed during shipment (which I found out is common). This caused the hitch to not fit the van. Great customer service informed me how to bend it back so it would fit. It wasn't too hard to correct once I understood what the issue was. They should prevent the hitch from flexing during shipment by shipping it with a brace or something similar.

Overall 5 stars for customer service and 3 stars for the hitch.

2025 Kia Sorento

I purchased a Curt Trailer Hitch for my 2022 Kia Sorento a couple year ago. I was very happy with it,so this year when I purchased my Toyota Siena I noticed that the hitch was not class 3 . So I purchased this one to replace the one that came standard on the van. After inspecting the two hitches I realized that it would be an easy swap. I confident that the Curt will be as good as the one that i installed on my Sorento.

by:

First off, excellent product and excellent customer service.

I bought a hitch receiver for my last Sienna for a bike rack and was happy with it so shopped here again. I have a 2021 Toyota Sienna Platinum trim, and this year is the first of this generation meaning the old hitch also needed a reboot. This one is easier to install than the last one I got that was almost completely hidden except for the actual receiver. With the new Sienna design the geometry makes this impossible so you see the structural bars connecting it to the van. You just need to take the driver's side panel off and trim it a bit before putting it back on over the hitch.

The bottom of the hitch sits 9-10 inches from the ground which is low but hey, it's a minivan and looking at the underside I don't think it could sit much higher anyway. I got a Meyer 4" drop/rise hitch extension to raise that by 4" which is works great. I did have to use a hacksaw and grindstone drill attachment to trim a corner off so it fit, then spray painted it, but I preferred that to getting one that stuck out even further since any extension is going to add to how far it sticks out the back. I got the this 5-bike Allen rack to go with it, it seemed to be one that again kept the bikes (and therefore the center of gravity) closer to the van compared to others. You also have to buy a 5/8" pin to secure the adapter. I made sure the pin and rack both had locking mechanisms on them to prevent theft.

Overall very happy with the hitch. It's sturdy and simple to install. Its 2" size makes it strong enough to do anything you want to do with it. Do NOT get the Toyota factory hitch- everyone at the dealership though it was a 2" hitch but it is indeed a 1-1/4" and an eyesore. This one looks nice and I would do the whole process over again. Trimming the adapter was the hard part, but it seemed to be the best option for keeping everything from sticking out too far.

by:

Everything was exactly as advertised. Ordering was simple and shipping was efficient. The hitch receiver is very robust and well designed. Installation directs were very clear.
