Troubleshooting Curt Hitch Mounting Bracket Not Lining Up on a 2025 Toyota Sienna
Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/06/2025 >
Question:
I installed my new trailer mount on my 2025 Toyota sienna and on one side my bolt plate is bent just enough that I can not bolt in all six bolts. I have a picture if you need it for visual representation. I am concerned that the tow weight and safety of the hitch is compromised by being supported by only 5 bolts.

Hey Adam, thanks for reaching out!
I totally get where you're coming from, and I'm glad you're concerned about safety. Feel free to shoot any photos over to my email address ([email protected]) and I'd be happy to take a look at them for you, but I will say that the mounting brackets on hitches, like your Curt # C22UR, being bent isn't always something to be concerned about.
Shipping agencies can be pretty rough on the packaging and so it's not uncommon for those brackets to be slightly bent during shipment. As long as there isn't any cracking or parts that look too seriously bent, you can slowly push the bracket back into place to get that last hole to line up.
We actually have a help article on how to do this, it happens that often.
Hopefully this helps put your mind at ease, but feel free to reach out in the comments below and/or with a photo in the email provided above and I'd love to help make sure you're confident in the hitch installation!
What do you plan on using the hitch for?

Hey Adam, did you have a chance to check if the bracket could be adjusted to fit all six bolts? I'm asking because your experience could help others who might face a similar issue with their hitch installation.
