Toyota Sienna Trailer Hitch Questions and Answers

  • Why Does Draw Tite Hitch # 76112 Have Longer Install Time Than Other Hitches
  • The reason the part # 76112 takes longer to install than the other hitches that fit your 2017 Toyota Sienna is that it installs higher than the other hitches and only has a visible hitch opening where the other hitches hang down further below. I attached two pictures. The one that shows the underside of the rear of the vehicle is the # 76112 and the other is the # 75237. So long story short, the # 76112 gives you a hidden look that is much more desired and also has the hitch a bit...

  • Why Would 2017 Toyota Sienna Squeak After Hitch Install
  • When you install a hitch on a vehicle you end up bracing the rear chassis of the vehicle as the hitch attaches to both sides of the frame and provides basically like a cross-bracing. What that can end up doing is causing the vehicle to have a stiffer feel to it. When torqueing the hitch down it can also cause the frame to position in a slightly different manner which can cause different interior or exterior parts to contact in a different way. Basically what I am trying to say is that...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for Best Ground Clearance on 2017 Toyota Sienna
  • Because of the way it mounts to the vehicle frame, the Draw-Tite Class III Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76112 is actually going to have the best ground clearance when compared to the other trailer hitches confirmed to fit your 2017 Toyota Sienna, including the 1-1/4 inch options. That is because this particular hitch installs higher than the alternatives to provide a hidden look with the cross tube, and this in turn will offer better ground clearance. I have attached a demonstration...

  • What is Ground Clearance for Draw Tite Hitch Installed on 2017 Toyota Sienna
  • When we installed the Draw Tite hitch part # 76112 on a 2015 Toyota Sienna similar to your 2017 model we found that from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground it measured 12 inches. Since this is a 2 inch hitch that would put the ground clearance from the bottom of the hitch right at around 9-3/4 inches. Reason being you have to subtract the vertical height of the hitch plus the thickness of the collar on the hitch.

  • Exhaust Rattle Against Hitch Receiver On 2017 Toyota Sienna
  • It is not uncommon to have an issue like this. Most of the time it requires adjusting the exhaust brackets, just bending them to hold the exhaust a couple centimeters higher or lower. Other times it requires purchasing new rubber hangers because they are worn out, but that won't be the case on your 2017 Toyota Sienna because it is still very new. Giving the exhaust hangers a slight bend will not effect them or their function, but will eliminate the rattle against your hitch receiver.

This carrier has a locking cable in the mast to secure the bikes to the carrier and help deter theft. The Hitching Post, part # TH934XTR is a nice carrier as well. This carrier tilts away from the back of your Sienna...

  • 4-Way Mounting Bracket Recommendation for 2016 Toyota Sienna with Draw Tite Hitch Installed
  • Normally for vehicles we recommend 4-way brackets like the part # 18144 which attach to the bottom of the rear bumper. We don't recommend ever drilling into the hitch. I attached an install video for this bracket as well. Or if you really wanted to attach the bracket to the hitch you would also want the part # 18140 which would attach to the hitch tube and then would allow you to attach the part # 18144.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver And Cargo Carrier For A 2015 Toyota Sienna
  • I have the perfect options for you! We have several trailer hitch receivers available for you to choose from. I recommend using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75237 as the Class III capabilities of this hitch will allow for a far greater variety of hitch mounted accessories to be used in comparison to Class I and Class II hitch receivers. For a hitch mounted cargo carrier, I recommend using the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches part # C18153 as this is one...

  • Best Trailer Hitch Receiver and Other Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer With a 2015 Toyota Sienna LE AWD
  • Sometimes navigating our site looking for the specific trim types of vehicles can be confusing. Your 2015 Toyota Sienna LE will fall under the "excluding SE models" filter. The best trailer hitch receiver for your van is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 76112. What sets this hitch apart is how little of it is visible once installed. The only thing you see on the rear of the van is the receiver tube and safety chain loops. I've linked an install video for you. The compatible wiring harness...

  • Recommended Hitch for 2015 Toyota Sienna XLE
  • We offer both light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class II and medium-duty 2-inch Class III hitches for your 2015 Toyota Sienna XLE. All can be seen on the linked page. The two linked articles offer helpful background on hitch types. We always recommend opting for the higher capacity 2-inch hitch when the choice exists. This hitch size offers better compatibility with a wide range of hitch-mount accessory items like bike and cargo carriers and a Class III will usually also have a higher weight capacity....

  • Trailer Hitch, Wiring, and Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2015 Toyota Sienna
  • We have everything you need to add a hitch, wiring, and brake controller for your 2015 Toyota Sienna. First let's start with a trailer hitch. For that the Curt part # C13105 is our most popular option that would work well. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # C56261. From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller....

  • EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Options for 2015 Toyota Sienna
  • All hitches offered for your 2015 Toyota Sienna are shown on the linked page. The only EcoHitch option is the 2-inch version # 306-X7255. We will always recommend a 2-inch hitch over a 1-1/4-inch since there will be many more available accessories made for the larger hitch size. Also a 2-inch hitch will offer higher weight capacity for whatever your requirement is, either towing a trailer or using a hitch-mount bike rack or cargo carrier. Actual height of a trailer hitch receiver...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2015 Toyota Sienna AWD
  • The trailer hitch receiver I recommend for your 2015 Toyota Sienna AWD is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 75237. This is a Class III hitch with a gross trailer weight of 4,500 pounds and maximum tongue weight of 675 pounds. I've attached an installation video for you. If you're going to be towing and need a wiring harness, the Tekonsha # 118498 will provide a 4-way trailer connector at the rear of your van. This connects into your Sienna's wiring behind the tai lights. For an adjustable...

  • According to Curt, their Class III hitch, part # C13105 is a fit for all models of the 2015 Toyota Sienna, including the SE model. The only trimming that will be required will be on the underbody panel, not the bumper or bumper fascia. I'll link you to the installation instructions and an install video. If you'll be towing with your Sienna, you'll also need the following to complete your towing system: Curt vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole trailer connector, part # C56106 Ball...

  • Can Trailer Hitch Be Installed Without Lifting 2015 Toyota Sienna
  • Although it makes it much easier to install the hitch when the vehicle is lifted, it can be done with your 2015 Sienna on ramps as you said. It just may be a little cramped. You want to make sure your Sienna wheels are chocked and you have the emergency brake set. If you have an appearance panel that covers the trunk pan it will need to first be removed and it will either not be re-installed or you can trim it as the instructions show and re-install the panel. You will also need a torque...

  • Hitch and 4 Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2015 Toyota Sienna
  • For a hitch for your 2015 Toyota Sienna that would work well with your bike rack and would provide the best possible ground clearance I would recommend the Draw Tite hitch part # 75237. This and the Hidden Hitch will provide 12 inches of ground clearance from the top of the hitch opening to the ground whereas the Curt would provide 10-1/2 inches. As long as you stay under the weight capacity of the hitch and the tongue weight rating of your vehicle you should be just fine using your...

  • Trailer Hitch, Bike Rack and Towing Equipment Recommendation for 2015 Toyota Sienna
  • I recommend a 2-inch Class III hitch for your 2015 Toyota Sienna over a smaller Class II type since it will give you higher capacity and/or a better safety margin. I suggest Curt 2-inch hitch # C13105 because it has the same capacity as the others but costs less. Written instructions and an install video are linked for you. In terms of ground clearance all hitches made for your car will mount to the same points on the frame; no one particular hitch will give you noticeably better ground...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2015 Toyota Sienna XLE
  • I have attached a link to the trailer hitch receivers available for your 2015 Toyota Sienna XLE. Due to the fact that the maximum tongue weight capacity available for your vehicle is 350 lbs, you will need to transport the power wheelchair with a small trailer which is best obtained locally. Putting the wheelchair on a hitch mounted carrier would exceed the hitch's capacity and could cause damage to the hitch as well as your vehicle. Although I do not have a trailer available, I can...

  • 2015 Toyota Sienna LE Hitch Recommendation for Use with Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack
  • The hitch you will want for your 2015 Toyota Sienna is going to be the Draw Tite part # 36513. This is a confirmed fit, does not require the stabilizer strap that Curt hitches do, and since it is a 1-1/4 inch hitch it will give you the best possible ground clearance since they are smaller than 2 inch hitches. This will work great with your Swagman XTC2 part # S64670. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. I attached a review video that shows your bike rack being...

Among them the one I suggest for its higher 350-lb tongue weight (TW) rating is the Curt # C12065. Note that if you plan to tow you can order this hitch with the correct ball mount and hitch ball; part # C120651 for a 1-7/8-inch ball or # C120652 for a 2-inch. The actual weights of these various hitches do vary slightly but their resulting appearance after...

However, one of the three 2-inch Class III hitches offered for the 2007 Sienna, Curt # C13105, does happen to fit both 2007 and 2015 model years. • When we installed the Curt Class III hitch # C13105 on a 2015 Toyota Sienna, we found that the distance from the hitch pin hole to the furthest rearward point of the rear bumper is 4-1/4 inches. This means that the bike rack you choose need so have a shank whose hitch pin hole to closest upright portion of the rack is longer than 4-1/2 inches. It doesn't sound like your 2015 Toyota Sienna has a weight distribution capacity so you would be limited to the 3,500 pounds specified for the vehicle. Also you will want to check the owners manual because Toyota may require additional items to meet the max capacity including a transmission cooler and/or power...

Since the Apex Swing is designed to only fit trailer hitches with 2 inch receivers, our options are narrowed down to the Draw-Tite Class III # 75237 and the Curt Class III # C13105. The Class II hitches available for your Sienna only have 1-1/4 inch hitch receivers. Between the Curt and Draw-Tite Class III hitches, I recommend going with the Curt # C13105 because it...
