Looking for Hitch for 2026 Toyota Sienna Platinum for Towing Trailer

I’m buying a 2026 Toyota sienna platinum van. I see most everyone has the hitch that bolts and hangs below the bumper. I hate the way they look. Does anyone make a hidden hitch? I’m not sure what it looks like under the car. I’m a hands on guy and don’t mind making some cuts in the plastic. I plan on towing my can am spyder on a stinger trailer.

Hey James, this is a great question but oddly enough there aren't any hidden hitches made for your 2026 Toyota Sienna at this time. The only hitches we offer are ones that do hang below the rear bumper like the Curt # C22UR. I couldn't find any similar hitches elsewhere either so this would be what you are limited to. For trailer wiring you'd then also need the Curt part # C53VV as well.

I installed my hitch for occasional towing, but my main reason was to add a (better) recovery point on the rear. Not a fan of using the tires. My old 2013 Prius had an eye on the front covered by a little plastic shield, but no points on the Sienna anywhere.

Hey James, I put one on my wife’s 2022. It looks factory installed. It follows the contour of the bumper. It was super easy. We use it for a tray and pulling a small camper. I remove the hitch and place a decorative insert in the two inch receiver when not towing. I like the way mine looks. I do have issues with it dragging on steep inclines but it’s a van. lol.

I installed this hitch model and wiring harness on two Sienna’s, a 2021 and a 2025. I did the install by myself without assistance. It is very heavy for one person but I used some lumber I had to support the hitch while I bolted it in place. The second time was easier than the first one so I knew what I needed to do. I had a small floor jack to raise it up, put the wood underneath the vehicle to hold the hitch in place while I bolted it in place. I had to strap the hitch to the arm of the floor jack. The cargo strap worked perfectly to hold the hitch in place while I raised it up into place. I slid the hitch under the car on the jack to figure out where I needed to cut the plastic splash panel, marked the panel with a sharp scribe, removed the panel, cut what I needed to remove to make room for the hitch with a Dremel rotary tool. Once I got the 4 bolts started the rest was easy. Don’t forget to use a torque wrench to finish tightening the bolts. Put the modified plastic splash guard back in place. The install instructions with the hitch are pretty straightforward and the install video on eTrailer’s website was very helpful. The wiring harness was very difficult to install but doable due to the tight space behind the driver side rear panel, removing the spare tire was a pain but I got it out eventually. Routing the wiring, finding the plug was a challenge but I figured it out. Putting the spare back in was not easy but eventually I got it back where it belonged. I chose not to route the wiring out of the bottom of the body so I just left it hanging out of the panel on the floor where the seat folds down. To use the wiring pig tail I just put it on the bottom of the rear door and then you can plug it into the trailer pigtail.
