Less Rattle, More Peace of Mind

Let's be honest, towing is all about metal-on-metal contact. So some noises are bound to happen. But, you don't want to be checking your rearview mirror at every pop , bang , squeak , and clank you hear behind you. These sounds just aren't comforting to hear when you're hauling upwards of 5 tons. You want to trust that whatever you're using to pull that much weight is built to last, and a hitch that rattles when you shake it doesn't build much confidence, now does it?

A top-down view of the etrailer adjustable ball mount shows very little space between the ball mount and the adjustable channel

Like you, we think towing should be easy and carefree, so we wanted to give you one less noise to worry about. That's why we've designed this hitch with pins that allow for tighter tolerances than others in its class. It really quiets the amount of shake and rattle, so all you have to do is just roll.

Double-Duty Corrosion Resistance

A close-up view of the etrailer adjustable ball mount compares its black powder coat finish with some visible signs of rust on the hitch receiver

Most ball mounts have just 1 layer of paint or powder coat to protect them from the outside world. Scratch this away after towing just a couple times, and the raw metal underneath will start to rust before you know it. Some folks take pride in that rusty, worn-in look. After all, rust is proof that you've had plenty of road-worn adventures.

But we prefer something that works hard and looks like it's barely broken a sweat. That's why we added a layer of e-coat underneath the matte black powder coat to give you an extra layer of rust protection. So while others might be driving around with a flaking, rusted-out hitch, yours will be looking great for the long haul.

Quick Tip: As for the hitch ball itself, if you really want to make sure that black nickel stays looking fresh for longer, we suggest greasing it up before you tow.

In the last week, I've towed my 16' enclosed trailer, 24' Tri-Toon, 18' car hauler, and 12' utility trailer with this etrailer adjustable ball mount. Being able to switch between 2" and 2-5/16" and adjust heights quickly has been huge! Made my life easier when trying to move between houses and still get my family out on the water during a busy week.

by:

Good products and quick shipping. Multi position hitch is very robust and will replace about a dozen various hitches with different heights and ball sizes.

by:

The receiver looks like it is built very well and should great.

by:

This was a great deal and fits great on my truck. I can’t wait to use it in the near future.

by:

Exactly what it says it is for a very reasonable price. Pretty thick gauge steel. No complaints. I would post a picture but I wanted to use them before I posted a review and I didn’t want to put a picture of dirty greasy balls online. : /

by:

item arrived as expected and i feel secure that it will hold up to label weight.

by:

  • Comparing The Etrailer Adjustable Ball Mount E66PR To B&W Tow And Stow BW29FR And BulletProof MD206
Great question Luke! These are all great options, but let me point out a few differences for you. The etrailer Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # e66PR is a good quality, affordable option compared to similar options like the BulletProof Hitches 2-Ball Mount # MD206. They both have a matte black finish and have a 2" and 2-5/16" ball, but I think the that the corrosion resistance of the black nickel hitch ball and hardware and solid feel of the etraler ball mount make it stand out for the price....

The best lock for the etrailer Adjustable 2-Ball Mount item # e66PR is our Hitch Receiver Lock item # e98881. This lock fits both 2" and 2-1/2" receivers. It has the option to be keyed alike as well.

  • Which Adjustable Ball Mount Is Quiet And Best For Keeping My Trailer Level When Towing?
Hey there Nickie, I would go with the etrailer Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # e66PR. Not only does it look really nice with the matte black powder coat and black nickel plating on balls and hitch pin, it also holds up really well against the elements, even better than the standard ball mounts with chrome balls. You also won't have to worry about rattling since the mounting channel has very tight tolerances. Luckily this kit comes with the common 2" and 2-5/16" balls and is adjustable up 6"...

  • Does the etrailer Adjustable 2-Ball Mount e66PR Have a 1-7/8" Ball Attachment?
No, I am sorry it does not. The etrailer Adjustable 2-Ball Mount item # e66PR only has the 2" and 2-5/16" dual hitch ball attachment. This is a brand new product as of 6/4/2024 and there are no additional attachments for it. The Flint Hill Goods Adj Tri-Ball Mount item # FHG92VR is our closest comparable option that also includes a 1-7/8" hitch ball.

  • Best Trailer Hitch Receiver And Drop Hitch For 2023 Silverado 1500 That Blends In And Looks OEM
Yes Dave, we can get you setup with a hitch and drop hitch since your 2023 Silverado 1500 didn't come with one. I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e79AR since it has a matte black finish which blends in and looks OEM, and has the common 2" opening for various ball mounts and accessories. Speaking of ball mounts, you can pair the matching etrailer adjustable ball mount # e66PR with your receiver. It has the same matte black powder coat, and also has a black nickel coating...

  • Trailer Hitch, Wiring, And Ball Mount Needed To Pull A Roadmaster Tow Dolly
Hi Thomas, The Roadmaster Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 requires a 2" hitch ball. Your Thor Omni XG32 was likely built on a Ford F-550 chassis so you should be able to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15845, but would need to doublecheck that you have this chassis and confirm the model year, as well as needing to measure 6" down from the frame to see if the receiver tube is going to clear the rear fascia. For the ball mount I recommend using a reducer # 325-GH-007 to get the opening size...

  • Towing A Small Trailer With A 2007 Acura RDX SH-AWD - What Are My Best Options?
Hey Tyler, those are a lot of great questions, and I am happy to help. According to the online manual, a 2007 Acura RDX can tow up to 1,500 lbs. Meaning you can definitely pull small trailers as long as you stay under 1,500 lbs total. Your best option for a hitch is the Curt Class 3 Hitch # 13536. This hitch has a 2" receiver which is very much standard. There is one other common hitch size, the 1-1/4" hitch, but the 2" is extremely common. You can easily find accessories like ball...

  • What Hitch Ball Size to Use for Towing a 2005 R-Vision Travel C-19 Trailer
Hey Christi, thanks for reaching out! I tried doing some research online and I wasn't able to find an exact hitch ball size for your 2005 R-Vision Travel C-19 trailer. With that being said, most trailers have either a 2" or a 2-5/16" hitch ball so I recommend using a dual hitch ball setup like our etrailer # e66PR so you get both sizes as well as a range of height settings to keep your trailer level.

Hi Coleen, In order to tow the Malone LowBed MicroSport Trailer # MPG464-LB you'll need a trailer hitch receiver, 4-pole trailer wiring harness, and a ball mount with a 2" hitch ball. If you don't have one or more of these components then I have the following recommendations: Trailer Hitch: etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e62TR. Wiring: Pollak # HM40975-11933. • Recommended Trailer Hitch Wiring For A 2022 Hyundai Tucson
Hi Matt, I can't confirm every 2022 Hyundai Tucson having the correct connector needed to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # CU94FR, but you can watch Ryan's video below and check to see if you have the necessary factory harness. If you don't have the factory wire harness then you'll need to go with the splice-in Curt # C59236 instead. Assuming your trailer doesn't have brakes the only other thing you would need would be a ball mount. Since you are renting the trailer...
