  • Replacement LED Trailer Lights for a 2000 Ranger R71 Boat Trailer
I would love to help you upgrade to LED lights on your trailer but unfortunately, trailer manufacturers don't just give us a list with every light on the trailer for situations like this. If you can provide me with your full 17 digit VIN I would be more than glad to call on your behalf and see if we have the correct replacements for you.

  • Will Adding Optronics LED Backup Light to Kayak Trailer Require Rewiring the Trailer
It sounds like you are wanting to replace your incandescent backup lights on your kayak trailer with LED lights like the Optronics LED Backup Light for Trucks or Trailers # BUL52CB. If that is the case, all you will need to do is replace the current lights with the LED lights. The # BUL52CB accept the industry standard 2-prong plug like the 2-Wire Pigtail for Optronics Backup and Utility Trailer Lights - 2-Prong PL-3 Plug # A45CB. If you do not have existing lights, then you will have...

  • Trailer License Plate Light that Mounts in Holes Spaced 3-1/4 Inches Apart on Center
License plate light # LP51CB is one option for your trailer. Its mounting holes are also spaced 3-1/4 inches apart on center. If you want the LED version it is # LPL41CB. I have linked a video featuring this light for you.

  • Recommended Bracket and Light for Mounting License Plate Vertically on Boat Trailer Fender
I like the suggestion about installing the plate at a 90º angle to the fender. We don't offer a purpose-built plate bracket/lamp that will perfectly fit the radius of your fender, but if you were to bend the plate to conform to the fender use a lamp such as part # LPL41CB and install it next to the plate on the fender it would work pretty well. A typical license plate in the US measures about 12x6, and the lamp measures about 1-3/4 inches wide when mounted on the vertical plane. If the...

  • Installing New Trailer Light with 2 Wires in Place of Trailer Light with 1 Wire
Your old light must be a model that grounds through the mounting hardware. The new light has a separate ground wire. The white wire is the ground and it will attach to a clean metal surface. The black wire is the power wire.

  • Installing LED License Plate Light with Black and White Leads
For an LED license plate lamp like part # LPL41CB, the black wire is connected to the running light circuit so that the plate is illuminated when the vehicle head lights are turned on, and the white wire is connected to ground.

  • Replacing a Rusted License Plate Bracket with a Plastic License Plate Holder on a Cargo Trailer
You can certainly replace the license plate bracket on your cargo trailer. I am guessing the license plate mounting screws are the part that is rusted. To remove them, you may want to use a drill to remove the screws or just break the heads off of the license plate screws to remove the license plate. Since you will be replacing the license plate bracket, you will not need to reuse the rusted screws or bracket. Once the screws and bracket are removed, you can install the Optronics Cargo...

  • Where to Run White Wire When Replacing License Plate Light with Light that Has Single Power Wire
Run the white wire on your trailer to the mounting bolt of the new license plate light. Your current light ground through the mounting hardware so you'd just need to connect the ground wire there and you'd be good.

  • Trailer Lighting Issue After Installing LED-Type License Plate Light on Toy Hauler
Generally a trailer light's ground wire will be white in color, so it sounds like you installed the LED light correctly. LED lights use only a small fraction of the power required by standard incandescent lights, so it is not likely to be an overloading issue; also, there is not usually any issue mixing LED and standard bulbs. I do not see any way that the trailer would be able to affect the Tundra's instrument cluster (let alone its traction control); I do not think these issues are related. First...

  • Installing New Trailer Light with 2 Wires in Place of Trailer Light with 1 Wire
Aluminum trailers are known for issues when it comes to grounding. You can accomplish this by joining the individual grounds with a butt connector like # DW05745-10 to the one main ground wire. Another option is to install a simple junction box like # 38656 where each individual light's ground can be joined. Then connect to the main ground that goes to the trailer connector. Use ring terminals # 44-5310A to make the connections inside the box.

  • Recommended License Plate Light for Rola Cargo Carrier # 59502
To illuminate your license plate I recommend the Optronics LED Trailer License-Plate Light with License Plate Relocating Mounting Bracket # LPL55CB for your Cargo Carrier. If you already happen to have a license plate bracket and just need the light then I would recommend the LED # LPL41CB. LEDs will last longer and draw less amperage than traditional incandescent lights. I have linked the mentioned products and an installation video for your convenience.

  • Are LED Trailer lights More Durable than Incandescent Light Bulbs
LED lights are more durable and can withstand more shock than incandescent bulbs. Regular bulbs are pretty fragile by comparison. That is not to say that the LEDs are indestructible but they will hold up better than regular bulbs when shock is applied. It sounds like you need something like # RA-27C to help with lifting and lowering the gate. I have included a link to a video that shows how it works.

  • How to Install Trailer Light with Two Wires on a Trailer that Only Uses One Wire
Trailer lights that only have one wire are designed to ground through the mounting hardware of the light. So signal is carried to the single power wire of the light and then it grounds through the mounting hardware. If you go to install a light that has two wires you'd then need to take and attach the extra ground wire to the frame of the trailer and it will also ground through the trailer frame like it needs to.

  • Availability of LED-Version of Petersen License Plate Light # M439K
Peterson does not offer an LED-type version of their incandescent License Plate Light # M439K but Optronics does offer their # LPL41CB, which is a Heavy Duty Trailer License Plate LED Light. This unit is also an ear-mount type, features a chrome-plated housing, 5 LEDs and a 2-wire hookup. I have linked a review video for your reference. The mounting hole spacing on the # M439K is 2-3/4-inches center-to-center. The mounting hole centers for the Optronics light are spaced at 3-1/4-inches....

  • Availability of Peterson LED Trailer License Plate Light
The LED version of the # PM436 is part # M296XC but the screw holes are spaced a bit differently, at 3-1/2 inches apart rather than the 3-1/4 of your current lamp. However, Optronics offers an LED license plate light, part # LPL41CB that has the same 3-1/4 inch bolt spacing as the lamp you have now, and it looks very similar. I've linked to an installation video.

  • Mounting License Plate Lamp Vertically
As long as the DOT regulations in your state allow a vertically mounted license plate light, you can certainly mount the lamp in a vertical rather than a horizontal orientation. We also offer the same lamp in an LED version, part # LPL41CB. LED lamps will draw only a fraction of the power of a comparable incandescent bulb, but will last much much longer.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Causing Blown Fuses On Vehicle When Connected
Since you said the fuses keep blowing with the trailer connected and they do not when the trailer is disconnected, this indicates there is a problem with a short on the trailer. You will want to start by inspecting the trailer connector, checking for any signs of bent or damaged pins and any signs of corrosion. Then you will want to make sure the trailer connector ground is attached to a clean, bare metal surface. Then check the wiring all the way back to the tail lights. Check for signs...

  • Replacement LED Availability of the LED Heavy Duty Trailer License Plate Light # LPL41CB
I checked with Optronics and there isn't a replacement LED available for the LED Heavy Duty Trailer License Plate Light # LPL41CB. You would need to replace the entire unit. Which when you consider that most replacement LEDs are more expensive than this whole unit it's not a bad deal just replacing the whole thing. If you had the incandescent bulb version of this light you could replace the bulb with a # A194B.

  • Can the LED Heavy Duty Trailer License Plate Light # LPL41CB Ground Through Mounting Hardware
The LED Heavy Duty Trailer License Plate Light # LPL41CB that you referenced is designed to ground to a ground wire circuit. You can ground it through the mounting hardware, but you would need to cut the white wire shorter and then strip it back so that you could insert the core of the wire between the mounting bracket of the light and the trailer frame.

At this time there is not a version of the Bargman LED, Surface Mount, Double Tail Light, # 47-84-610, that incorporates a license plate light at the bottom of the housing. We do have a solution for you though. You could install the Bargman lights that you like and then install an LED license plate light like the LED Heavy Duty Trailer License Plate Light, # LPL41CB, or the LED Mini Trailer License Plate Light, # LPL31CB, above your license plate. If you need a bracket to attach the license...
