Question:
I am trying to install a 2 wire LED license plate light, to replace a rusted out 1 wire light assembly. The problem is that the entire trailer is aluminum. How can I ground this light?

Expert Reply:
Aluminum trailers are known for issues when it comes to grounding.
You can accomplish this by joining the individual grounds with a butt connector like # DW05745-10 to the one main ground wire.
Another option is to install a simple junction box like # 38656 where each individual light's ground can be joined. Then connect to the main ground that goes to the trailer connector. Use ring terminals # 44-5310A to make the connections inside the box.
