  Those part numbers are for trailer clearance lights, and the main difference between 1a-v-1240R and 1a-v-1260r is that the 1240R is a led light, and the 1260r is a incandescent light. Both lights have red lenses and are 3 7/8 inches long, by 1 1/4 inch wide. We do have replacement lights that will work in both styles.   For a mounting bracket for the Optronics Trailer Light # MCL75RB that you referenced you would want an Optronics Black Mounting Bracket # A65PB. How it will mount will depend on your trailer, but basically you will need to use a screw or bolt with a diameter less than 1/4 inches to attach it to the surface of your trailer. • Does Optronics Side Marker Light # MCL63RB have to be Mounted a Specific Way
  Lights that have to be mounted in a specific orientation will have TOP printed on them somewhere which I do not see on light # MCL63RB. The lens is designed to direct the light straight outward so that is likely why it is harder to see them if they are mounted high and you are close to the trailer.   You are exactly right. Changing out your # MC65RB incandescent lights for new # MCL75RB lights will simply require removing the existing light and snapping a new light into the same housing. Both of these lights use the # A65PB bracket. If any of the brackets on your trailer need replaced you can use the # A65PB as a replacement, but the LED lights will not require any different base than the incandescent lights.
