I bought these not knowing I would need them. (My small utility trailer had rectangular holes for an older style light) I was able to use the rubber gaskets and the led light and some handy woodwork to make it fit my 1984 trailer these rubber gaskets are fantastic.

:I have a hitch platform bike rack, With bikes on the rack, particularly when they are covered, the car tail lights are not seen. I applied the Rola LED Light Kit for Railed Cargo Carriers to the Platform bike rack so that Tail lights, turn signals and brake could be visible. This adds Safety to driving as well as protection for the bikes. Arthur D., the etrailer representative I spoke with, was well versed in etrailer products and was extremely helpful in getting my order organized and shipped. I was completely satisfied with my interaction with Arthur D and the company.

I would have to duck tape the back of the rubber grommet to keep the tail light in the trailer.

This grommet is a direct replacement for several different brands of oval trailer lights listed above in the description. If you do not have any of the brands this is for, we give you the measurement 6-11.16 inch X 2-5.8 inch to see if it is the right fit.

Exact fit for the lights I ordered. I'm not sure I'll need them since I'm replacing older incadenscent lights by the same company, but why take a chance for a few extra dollars.

Comments
The lights were just what I wanted. One of my original incandescent lights got moisture inside and was blowing the fuse in my truck these were sealed lights and no way to open the up and repair them. These Optronics lights are far superior. Much brighter, both running and braketurn. I did not need the mounting gasket I also ordered though. These lights fit into my old gasket. I also ordered the A47PB right angle plugs. The rear bumper on my toy hauler is narrow and the stock plugs were hitting the inside of the bumper and bending the wires. I have never had any problems with anything I have ordered from E Trailer.

Great product! My right brake/turn signal stopped working on my trailer, so I purchased a new ST70RB 6-1/2" oval trailer light, along with the wiring plug and this matching grommet, installed them in about 30 min, and it works great! The package arrived quickly and was packed nicely. I found out my fuse was blown on my 2016 Traverse for the right trailer stop/turn signal, but that was most likely from the old light which I think was leaking. I didn't know there was a fuse just for that so I learned something new. I will definitely purchase trailer products again from etrailer.com!

I purchased these Submersible LED bulbs for my boat trailer for two reasons. The first is so road traffic is aware of my intentions of backing up and the second is to make it easier to back my trailer into my driveway at night. The only thing that I find disappointing about this product, is that the wires are not sealed. You have to plug a pigtail in to power the bulb. Although they say it is watertight, I still plan on sealing the plug with some marine grade silicone sealant. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the way these bulbs light up my path of travel.

- a70gb
by:

Used these grommets to install lights on my cargo trailer that I pull behind my motorcycle. I wanted lights that would be sealed from leaking and these grommets allowed me to do that. Easy to use and they hold the lights as expected. Will definitely use these again if I need a similar set up.

Yes, I did buy some of these a year ago. I have not used them. I merely bought them for spares. So they are still in the package and will match my Optronics LED lights. Because when I go out on the road I try to be extra careful and I do keep quite a bit of spare stuff handy in the trailer tool box to meet my need of repairs if that be the case. I for one think good lighting is very important at night, certainly day time too on the brakes and turn signals. Thanks for checking in and if I need anything else I will be in touch. It's good to talk to you folks over there because I can always talk to somebody who knows something about your product line. That's important to me.

Good quality grommet, make light install easy

- a70gb
by:

Useless. The lip on the inside is much, much too small and the grommet won't hold the light in the trailer opening. The grommet is sized correctly (I compared it to my old grommets) but there is nothing to hold the grommet in the trailer opening. Total waste of money.

- a70gb
by:

While these grommets allow the lights to fit inside them perfectly the grommets themselves are fairly loose in the trailer. I have a 2011 Ironworks challenger series car hauler and it had chrome trim rings around the grommets which I transferred to these and they aided in tightening things up somewhat but it just doesn't seem to fit like I'd expect. Etrailer is great and always has prompt and courteous service so I am still a customer for all my trailer needs.

Comments
Not quite good enough, I ended up going back to my old grommets for a tighter fit and better adhesion of the trim rings.

I was able to replace my existing lights with these that include the back-up light feature. Exact fit and work better than expected. Now I can see behind my 5th wheel when backing up the rig. The light harness along with the light fixture more than met all my expectations.

  • What are the Hole Dimensions for the #A70GB, Rubber Grommet for 6-1/2 Inch Oval Trailer Light
I went out into our warehouse and measured one of our Rubber Grommet for 6-1/2 inch Oval Trailer Light, # A70GB, that we have in stock. From the measurements I took, you will have to cut a hole that is 6-11/16 inches long and 2-5/8 inches tall.

  • Size of Hole Needed to Install PVC Grommet # a70gb in Thicker Mounting Surface
The ribs of the PVC Grommet for 6-1/2" Oval Trailer Tail Lights # a70gb do push further into the light assembly when you attempt to install on a thicker mounting surface. Since the ribs are on the top and bottom you'd just need to open the hold up to 2-5/8 inches vertically and the same 6-3/4 inches left to right and you'd be good. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.

As long as you mount the backup light part # BUL10CB using the grommet part # A70GB and bracket part # BK70BB in such a way that it would not be directly behind the tires of the trailer you really shouldn't have a problem with debris...unless you drive like the guys on Dukes of Hazzard. The way to remove a riveted item on yoru trailer is by using a drill. You want to use a drill bit that is smaller than the head of the rivet. • How to Cut a Grommet Hole for Installation of the Oval Trailer Tail Lights # STL22RB
The easiest way to cut the oval hole for the Rubber Grommet, # a70gb, in my opinion, would be to use a Light Mounting Bracket for 6-1/2 inch Oval Trailer Lights, BK70BB, as a template and then use a hole saw the correct size to cut a hole on each end of the mounting location.
