Once it’s tucked away, you control everything through your smartphone. It keeps the cab looking factory-clean and leaves plenty of space for your legs—nothing to bump into, nothing in view.
Wiring doesn’t have to be complicated. The included custom harness plugs right into the vehicle’s existing brake control port with no splicing required. Mount the box with the supplied adhesive pad or zip ties, pair it with your phone, and you’re ready to go in seconds. The 3-axis accelerometer automatically calibrates at any mounting angle, so installation is flexible and smooth braking starts right away.
Instead of reaching for a dash controller, you manage everything from your phone using the OneControl app. Adjust max brake output, change sensitivity, apply the manual override, or check power levels right on screen. The app is simple to use, stays connected through Bluetooth, and keeps working even if your data connection drops. You can store multiple trailer profiles too—perfect when you tow more than one rig and want consistent settings every time.
No jerky starts or sudden jolts—the Echo’s proportional braking matches trailer pressure to how hard you brake. An internal 3-axis accelerometer senses deceleration and applies the same level of braking across your setup. It works with trailers that have 1 to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies) and supports electric trailer brakes. The result is even braking that feels natural and keeps stress off both tow vehicle and trailer brakes.
This controller looks simple but packs smart safeguards inside. Reverse polarity and short-circuit protection help prevent wiring damage or misfires, while diagnostic LEDs show system status in real time so you know it’s working correctly before hitting the road. If Bluetooth connection drops mid-tow, it keeps running on your last saved settings, so braking stays steady no matter what happens with your phone connection.

Still 5 stars, lots of trips including a long tow of over 5000 miles. Consistently worked flawlessly. Mild annoyance that they changed the app but once I learned how the new app worked it continues to function flawlessly.

I reached out to Curt about the problems with the new app. They advised that the new app runs the same as the old app it has to run in the foreground unless they are using the button which is the same as the old app. They wanted to know if you were having trouble getting past that screen. Which type of cell phone do you have and which IOS are you using?
