2012 ram 1500 and 2015 ram 1500 Do they use the same brake controller harness

Expert Reply:
The 2012 Ram 1500 and 2015 Ram 1500 do not use the same brake controller harnesses. If you are using a Tekonsha, brake controller, your 2012 Ram 1500 will be using Wiring Adapter # 3021-P and your 2015 Ram 1500 will need Wiring Adapter # 3024-P.
If you are using a Curt brake controller, your 2012 Ram 1500 will be using wiring adapter # C51438 and your 2015 Ram 1500 will need # C51458. If you are using a Hopkins brake controller your 2012 Ram 1500 will need wiring adapter # HM53015 and your 2015 Ram 1500 will need wiring adapter # HM53056.
If you do not already have a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 for your 2012 and 2015 Ram 1500. This brake controller has a customizable LCD display, storable settings and continuous diagnostics. The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 works with wire adapter # 3021-P for your 2012 Ram 1500 and adapter # 3024-P for your 2015 Ram 1500.
I have attached an installation video of the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 on a 2016 Ram 1500, which installs the same on a 2015 and 2012 Ram 1500 you may want to check out.
