To install your Curt Venturer Trailer Brake Controller # C74VV, you will want to use the Curt Custom Wring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers # C51438. This custom wiring adapter will plug into a port under the dash of your truck and the other end will plug into the back of the brake controller. With a custom wiring harness, you will not need to worry about splicing wires together or any other hardwire steps to install the brake controller.
The installation instructions for the # C51438 wiring harness show the location of the brake controller port to be under the dash, to the right of the emergency brake pedal. These instructions are linked for you. I have also attached the photo indicating the location of the plug.
