Will this brake controller plug into my Dodge Ram 1500 2011 model or will it need the special attachment piece? My truck has a 7way plug built in already.

If your 2011 Ram 1500 came with the factory 7-Way then you will need the adapter # C51438 to install the Curt Venturer # C74VV. You can find the plug on your pickup under your driver's side dash near the emergency brake pedal.
The black connector on the brake controller is actually a universal connector. This allows you to use a variety of adapters without having to cut the connector off of the brake controller.
