  • Can I Add Electric Brakes To A 1993 EZ Loader Boat Trailer
Hello Mike. It sounds like you are wanting to add electric brakes to your boat trailer that currently has no brakes. This is possible, but you will first need to make sure that your axle is equipped with a brake flange at the base of the spindle. The brake flange is necessary for adding brakes. If you do have a brake flange, you will next need to determine your bearing sizes. Electric brakes will require new hubs and drum assemblies, and we need to be sure that there is a drum available...

  • Replacement Hub, Bearings, and Grease Seal for 3,500 lb Dexter Axle
You are correct that is a 3,500 lb axle. If you want a bearing kit the # BK2-100 you looked at is the right one. This comes with a # L44649 outer and # L68149 inner bearing along with a # 58846 (10-19) grease seal. If you want a replacement idler hub you can use the # AKIHUB-655-35-K or for a hub and drum assembly the # AKHD-655-35-K. Both of these have a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern.

  • Replacement Disc Brake Rotor/Hub For a 1990 Ranger Trail Boat Trailer
The Dexter 10" Hub-and-Rotor Assembly # K08-435-05 is designed to fit a 3,500LB trailer axle with the Inner Bearing # L68149, Outer Bearing # L44649 and Grease Seal # RG06-050. To confirm if this is what matches the axle on your 1990 Ranger Trail Boat Trailer, you will need to inspect your current hub for the bearing and seal information. If you are unable to find the information stamped on the bearings and seals you can measure your spindle with a Digital Caliper # PTW80157. Once you have...

  • Wheel Bearings and Grease Seal for 2023 Keystone Cougar 23MLE
Well, Dexter is normally really helpful but in this case not so much. From what they sent back you have a # L68149 inner and outer bearing. I've never heard of that before and really don't believe you have a straight spindle. Based on the fact that you also have a 10-19 grease seal # RG06-050 I feel like the outer bearing is actually # L44649. This would mean you can use the Hub Bearing Kit for Lippert, Dexter, and AL-KO Axles - 3,500 lb with #84 Spindle # BK2-100. I hate to say it but...

The Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - 4" Lift Spindle - Off-Road Tires - 3,500 lbs # ASR35HDS02 is compatible with I-beam frames and in tandem axle configuration. Due to the Aluminum frame, I recommend putting a thin rubber pad between the steel mount and the aluminum I-beam. The powder coat on the steel should keep the two dissimilar metals from galvanic corrosion, but a thin rubber pad would drastically increase this safety. Zinc plated hardware will work well with...

  • How To Find Correct Replacement Bearings and Hub for Outback Trailer with AL-KO Axles
I have a few options for you to help with identifying the bearings on your trailer. The first and easiest method would be to crawl under the trailer and look for the axle tag on the beam. This should give an axle capacity which we can then use to find the bearings based off industry standards. For example, a 3,500 lb axle uses L68149 and L44649 bearings like what comes with the Hub Bearing Kit for Lippert, Dexter, and Al-Ko Axles part # BK2-100 or the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly...

While the # L68149 most likely corresponds to the inner bearing number of your hubs. If this is the case, you have either a 3.5k or a 4.4k axle. In order to know absolutely sure, you need to know the corresponding outer bearing number or the inner and outer diameter of the grease seal. You most likely need to wipe away the grease in order to reveal the outer bearing number. In order to accomplish this, I recommend using calipers like the 4" Carbon Fiber Digital Caliper # PTW80157. As this is being used on a boat trailer, I highly suggest going with the etrailer.com # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K. This is galvanized and will be the best option available for your trailer.
