Is there a Replacement O-Ring that Sits at the Back of the Spindle Before the Backing Plate?

Question:

Going to order bearings L44649 and L 68149 and races also for my spindles. My ? is there is an o ring on the inner part of the spindle I cant seem to find it and would like to replace it also. Please see photo. Thanks

Hello Jeff,

Thank you for the picture, they are always most helpful. That is an interesting set-up. It looks like it might be an old o-ring from a Dexter Vault like the Dexter Vault Hybrid Lubrication System for 2,500-lb to 3,500-lb Trailer Buddy Axles # DX52UR, do you know if that was previously on there? What kind of trailer is this on?

I cannot see the full Spindle in the picture you sent, is it a straight spindle with both L44649? If so you could order Complete Bearing Kit with L44649 Inner/Outer Bearings and 10-9 Grease Seal Fits 1.063" Spindles # BK1-150.

Or is it a tapered spindle on a 3,500 pound axle and only the outer bearing is L44649, if that is the case you could get the Hub Bearing Kit for Lippert, Dexter, and AL-KO Axles - 3,500 lb with #84 Spindle # BK2-100.

Please comment below on if you know if there was a Dexter Vault on there previously, and what kind of trailer this is. That way I can do a little more digging about the O-Ring.

All original spindle,hub & oil bath system (looks like the Vault) Marine Master Trailer 2006 - GVWR 3500# Tapered spindle with L68149 Inner Bearing & L44649 Outer Bearing The kits you sent do not include the O Ring in question O Ring sits in groove on spindle behind the inner bearing & hub seal

@Jeff Yes, I understand that it does not come with the O-Ring. That is why I was asking about what kind of trailer it was or if you knew if it had the Vault on there because regular set-ups do not require an O-Ring just the grease seal. We don't even sell the O-Rings separately, we used to but they are NLA (no longer available) and that is usually because the manufacturer has discontinued them. You can buy the whole kit and reinstall the Dexter Vault Hybrid Lubrication System # DX52UR, or I suggest reaching out to Dexter directly to see if you can purchase them separately.
