Keeping wheel bearings in good shape doesn’t have to mean tearing everything apart. This Dexter hub has an E-Z Lube-compatible grease cap that lets you add grease right through the zerk fitting on your spindle. Just pull the rubber plug, connect your grease gun, and fill it up—no disassembly, no greasy cleanup. The fresh grease flows to both the inner and outer bearings, helping them stay smooth and protected from corrosion.
Everything’s here so you can install it right away—inner bearing (L68149) and race (L68111), outer bearing (L44649) and race (L44610), grease seal (58846), grease cap, wheel bolts, and 1/2" lug nuts. It’s a ready-to-go setup for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube axles with #84 spindles. Each hub is rated at 1,750 lbs and fits wheels from 13" to 15" with a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern.
This hub is made from solid iron so it can handle steady use without flexing or cracking. It’s sized to fit tight and run true, keeping your wheels balanced and your bearings seated correctly mile after mile. The precise machining makes installation smooth and helps prevent wobble or uneven wear.
If you’re replacing an old or unknown hub, matching the bearing numbers is the sure way to confirm fitment. This hub uses inner bearing L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) and outer bearing L44649 (1.063" inner diameter). The included grease seal measures 1.719" inner diameter and 2.565" outer diameter—so if your spindle dimensions line up, this hub is the right match.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

After year the bearings are holding up. No issues. And it is neat how you check up on these things. Thank you!

That buggy looks like it would be a lot of fun to ride in! I'm so glad that we had some hubs that would work on the spindle, sometimes old spindles are too short and the hubs wont fit right, but these were a perfect fit. Thanks for sharing all the pictures, David. I loved looking at them all.
