Hi everybody, my name is Andy with etrailer.com, and today we're taking a look at Coghlan's six foot long LED illuminated camping gear combination lock. If you're looking for an affordable way to secure your camping items at your camp site, like a propane tank or a cooler or other camping valuables while you temporarily walk away from your site or if you're looking for just a good way to secure your bike to a bike rack, this might be a good option for you. This has a 36 foot long, 1/2 inch in diameter, flexible braided steel cable. And what's nice about this cable, it is enclosed in vinyl to protect whatever item that you are trying to secure from scratches. So when it's running up against the frame of your bike, you don't have to worry about this cable scratching up the finish off of your bike. Let's take a closer look at it.
One of the key features of this is, of course, the combination lock, so you don't have to worry about losing keys with this particular lock. And what's nice about this is it's very easy to set whatever combination that you would like. This does come defaulted at all zeros. And so to set the code that you would like, it has a reset dial inside of the handle here, and you just turn that clockwise 90 degrees, and then you can set whatever four-digit code you would like. And once your four digit is set, then you just turn that back and it locks in your new four-digit code, so a very easy and quick way to set whatever four-digit code you would like.
And this does feature an LED-illuminated dial. And I am going to shut the lights off here in my studio to try to give you an idea of what it looks like. You probably won't have a clear readout of the dial while it's lit, but at least you can see the glow that it gives. So I'm just gonna push the center button and it does have a nice blue LED light that will light up this dial. And I think that'll be good for low light or no light situations.
And what I did notice is when you give the button a firm push, that light will stay on for a few seconds to give you enough time to set your code. Sometimes you have to give it a few pushes just to make sure that that light stays on. Typically it stays on for a few seconds and you'll be good to go. It does come included with batteries, so out of the box, this is ready to be used. And if the batteries die, they can be replaced.
The panel is held together by a Phillips-head screw, and it does have gaskets inside to protect the batteries from moisture. And the batteries are two LR44 button cell batteries. So this is a very nice and a very convenient way to lock up any valuables that you would like to secure. And just to give you some measurements here of the lock itself, from the top of the dial to the bottom of the lock, we're sitting right at about three inches, and then at its widest point on the lock we're sitting at about an inch and 1/2 at the widest point. That'll conclude our look today at Coghlan's six foot long LED illuminated camping gear combination lock. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me today..
