This alarmed locking cable will deter most thieves looking to make a quick snag. We were all a little jumpy while getting to know this product because the alarm is, well, alarming! The sound in our review video doesn't do the Scream'n Demon alarm justice, but at 110 decibels, it's about the equivalent of standing 3' away from a sounding car horn. It's loud enough that we wore earplugs while working with it!

Setting and Deactivating the Scream'n Demon Alarm

Set the Scream'n Demon alarm

When you're ready to lock this cable lock, be sure to insert the key first. The key has to be in the cylinder when you pop in the locking pin.

Set the Scream'n Demon alarm

If you want to set the Scream'n Demon alarm when you're locking down your gear, push the alarm button before you insert the locking pin. The alarm will beep twice to let you know it's armed and active, and you will then have 22 seconds to insert the cable's pin and remove the key.

Once the lock is armed and 22 seconds have passed, the alarm will go into guard mode. If the cable gets bumped, you'll hear a warning beep. If it's bumped or moved again within 20 seconds, the alarm will sound for 15 seconds before going back into a waiting state.

You can also use this cable lock without the alarm - just insert the pin and remove the key without pressing the alarm button.

Video Transcript for Review of Trimax Locks Cable Locks - 6 Foot Long Alarmed Locking Cable - TMX58FR

Hi, everybody. Andy here with And today, we're gonna take a look at this Trimax six foot long armed locking cable. Now, this heavy duty cable lock with an alarm lets you easily secure your motorcycle, construction equipment, ATVs, and more. It features a loud 110 decibel alarm that's gonna alert you of movement or tampering. The braided steel cable is flexible and it does resist cutting.

And as you can see, it has a rubber coating. That's going to keep the steel cable from scratching your gear and it's gonna protect the cable against corrosion. Now, you can lock this cable without using the alarm. And I wanted to show you just how to unlock this before I show you how the alarm works. So you are gonna get three keys.

One of the keys has a mini flashlight on it, so that's gonna be great for low light conditions. The keyhole does have a keyhole cover to protect that keyhole from dirt and debris and things like that, so that is included on this. But to unlock it, you just simply stick the key in, turn it, and then that is going to release the cable from the lock. And sometimes, as you can see, the battery cover on mine, the one that I have does pop off from time to time, so you just need to be aware of that. And I'm gonna go ahead and put that back on.

And so as you can see with the key in, it's not gonna be able to come out until you lock it again. But if you wanted to lock it without using the alarm function, you would not push this button, so it can be used without the alarm. And we are locked. Now, to use the alarm, you would have to unlock it once again and then push the alarm switch. So you push in the alarm switch and then you lock it, turn the key and now it is locked and armed.

Now, you're going to hear some prompting sounds letting you know that it is armed and you will have 22 seconds to lock the lock. And so we have it locked and if it's bumped within 20 seconds, the alarm will go off and last 15 seconds. But about 22 seconds later after it's locked and after making those initial sounds that you just heard, the alarm will enter an alarm resting state. Now, I'm gonna see if I can activate the alarm, so I'm gonna move the lock. So that's a warning tone letting you know that it has been moved and then I'm gonna get ready to turn off the alarm. So to turn off the alarm after it goes off, you'll just stick in the key and unlock it. So there's the alarm and then unlocking it will deactivate the alarm. So instructions are included about how the alarm operates and it's going to give you a flow chart and a diagram on how the alarm works. So I'm gonna go ahead and just lock this without the alarm activated. And the cable itself is very durable, feels heavy duty, so I think it's gonna last a long time. Just be aware, at least on my model, that sometimes that battery cover will pop off. I don't know if that's something that's just with the one that I have or if that's something that is going to be true of all of these locks. But overall, it's a handy feature to have with that alarm. Again, the cable length is six inches, six feet long rather and the cable diameter is one inch in diameter. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
