Recommended Hitch for a 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross and How to Install It

Does the hidden hitch require any disassembly to our brand new 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross? It is the base model. Just need a hitch to haul two bikes. It would be great to just bolt it in place without removing any parts. The difficulty shows 5 of 10. I am capable of light mechanics but by far not a pro.

Hey Michael, congrats on the new SUV. The EcoHitch item # EH87CR does not require you to remove the rear bumper assembly when installing. It does require some slight fascia trimming though. You'll have to remove a 2-3/4” deep and 4-1/2” wide section that sits below your Cross. This allows the 2" receiver to extend below your bumper.
Please note that the EcoHitch item # EH87CR only fits the hybrid models of the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross. If yours is not a hybrid, you'll need the Curt item # C64DR hitch.
The Curt item # C64DR does require removal of the rear bumper to install. I have linked an installation video, along with the instructions, so you can see how to get this hitch installed on your Corolla Cross.
