When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

Electric reverse lockout with solenoid is automatically activated when the tow vehicle is shifted into reverse. To use this feature, you must have a 5-pole flat, 6-way round or 7-pole wiring harness.

by:

Have not installed it yet but the service from etrailer is great.
They have everything you need and the expertise to get you what you need the 1st time.

by:

Actuator arrived very quickly after order via UPS. Part was as described and the online instructions and manual for installation were extremely helpful. Thanks etrailer. I will use etrailer for all my trailering needs!

by:

The mounting tab was slightly bent in shipping so the installation was a little tough by myself. Just had to bend it back and needed four hands. The product overall is a direct replacement of the unit I am replacing so I am expecting it to function flawlessly.

by:

Great product. Very well designed

by:

This is exactly what wa advertised and arrived quicker than I thought, especially since it is during the holidays when shipping always takes longer.

The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the packaging, the actuator really needs to be packed in something more ridgid that cardboard. My actuator arrived with the 2 pins on the cylinder bracket bent (looks like it may have been dropped during shipping). I didn't contact the seller as the last one that I ordered (from another vendor) arrived the same way and for me it is easyer to repair it that return it.

by:

Perfect fit and easy installation.

by:

Bought this as a replacement for a Titan Model 107 (who Dexter bought a while back) and it is a perfect fit.

by:

The item came damaged. The back cover plate for the electronic lockout was bent and twisted.

by:

Product was processed and delivered promptly. Very please to do business with etrailer. .

by:

Packaging was terrible and the product was bent.

by:

Great product and speedy delivery

by:

I purchased this to because i was replace the drum brakes with disk brakes. It is an excellent actuator (as are the brakes and brake lines). The one issue I have is the thin metal shield for the backup solenoid, it has sharp edges that can cut the insulation of a wire (like the one going to the solenoid) or a child's finger. This design is clearly an afterthought by someone who is incompetent. I bent part of the shield back on itself to minimize the chance of any damage to the wire. This could be easily remedied if the manufacture would add a 1/2" and roll the metal back on itself before bending it. I guess I should be happy that the shield is there at all. I would give it 5/5 if it was not for this stupid afterthought design

by:

service and products are great shipping was a shit show which has nothing to do with you thanks ups

  • Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System Compatibility with Aluminum I-Beam Trailer Frame
The Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - 4" Lift Spindle - Off-Road Tires - 3,500 lbs # ASR35HDS02 is compatible with I-beam frames and in tandem axle configuration. Due to the Aluminum frame, I recommend putting a thin rubber pad between the steel mount and the aluminum I-beam. The powder coat on the steel should keep the two dissimilar metals from galvanic corrosion, but a thin rubber pad would drastically increase this safety. Zinc plated hardware will work well with...

Yes there are only two rollers on the damper. The chamfered edge on the # DX46FR should be facing out. The assembly instructions suggest using dummy pins out of 3/4" diameter dowels and state, "Insert one of the wooden dowels into the edge of the top slot of the inner. Then slide the dowel through a rear roller with the chamfered edge out, then through the end of the damper, and finally through another rear roller with the chamfered edge out.

  • Solution for Manually Locking Out Brakes on Actuator With Electric Lockout
If you have an actuator like the Dexter # T4750620 you looked at, the only way to lockout the brakes is with the electric lockout. If you have a different model it is possible it has a spot for a key on the side like the # DX94FR which would work with an actuator like the # DX56FR. The picture you submitted doesn't quite show the coupler so I can't really tell what's going on. But you should be able to unbolt the coupler from the trailer to access the master cylinder and replace it.
