Thanks for answering my question, I checked out the product recommendation you made and have two follow up questions: - This is for a boat trailer, would the Dacromet finish version be better for a trailer that is frequently exposed to saltwater? - I am also planning to replace the surge brake actuator and brake lines. The surge brake actuator that is currently on the trailer is a titan model 20, welded to the frame. I’m thinking of replacing it with a titan model 10, zinc finish bolt-on version. The guy who built the trailer liked to ‘over-build’ everything, so i’m wondering if that 20,000 lb capacity actuator is really necessary - especially considering even the 12,500 capacity actuator is still above my trucks towing capacity. I just want to double-check that there wouldn’t be any issues with this. Specifically, looking at the Item # T4750620 actuator. The trailer is a very heavy steel trailer, probably about 2000-2500 lbs by itself. Thanks again,

Thanks so much for that info, and the 1.75" measurement you got for the inner bearing means that is a 25580 bearing; along with the outer bearing 14125A and the 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern, we can get you the correct disc brake hub and rotor to replace your drum brakes; what you will need is the following:

- Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - Raw Finish - 7,000 lbs # K2HR712

- Bearing Kit for Trailer Brakes with 13" Hub/Rotor and 1/2" Bolts - 7,000 lbs # DBRKHW7

The # K2HR712 disc brake kit comes with the races but not the bearings or grease seal, which is why you'll need those. The hub on this brake kit uses 1/2" wheel studs, and mounts to a 5-bolt brake flange.

Let's start with the hub and rotor disc brakes, and since this is a saltwater application, brakes that have a coating are definitely the way to go, and the Kodiak Dacromet-coated brakes have a 300-400 hour salt spray rating. You'll still need the seal and bearings along with the brakes: - Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - Dacromet - 7,000 lbs # K2HRCM1337-9DAC - Bearing Kit # DBRKHW89G I wanted to note real quick that the # K2HRCM1337-9DAC uses outer bearing 02475 instead of 14125A, but the two bearings have the same inner diameter, so it will still fit your spindle. In regards to the actuator, there is no issue whatsoever replacing a 20k actuator with a 12-1/2k actuator. The actuator simply needs to meet or exceed the capacity of the loaded trailer you're towing. And if it's rated for higher than your truck can tow, you're set to use the Titan actuator: - Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator w/ Drop, Electric Lockout - Disc - 2-5/16" Ball # T4750620 Finally, you'll also need brake lines for disc brakes, and based on the weight I'm going to assume you have a tandem axle trailer, so you can use either the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Tandem Axle - 20' # 20TA-BLKIT.

I went out to the warehouse and measured the bolt holes on actuator #T4747220. The 2 larger holes are spaced 5 inches apart on center. I have included a picture showing this and other measurements for you.

Install bolts are not included with the Titan Actuator part #T4750620 that you referenced, you will need to get them from a local hardware store. Titan recommends you use 1/2 inch by 4 inch grade 5 or better bolts, nuts, and lock washers.

The Titan Actuator part #T4750820 would be a great solution for replacing the GDC 120 you have on your triple axle boat trailer. It has more than enough capacity and is a very reliable actuator.
