Surge-type actuator is zinc plated for increased corrosion resistance and comes with integrated, heavy-duty coupler. Unique roller design helps reduce resistance. For use with drum brakes.

Features:

  • Hydraulic actuator synchronizes trailer brakes with tow-vehicle brakes
  • Unique roller design reduces resistance during telescoping to create straight-line movement
  • Sturdy, durable steel construction resists bending in jackknife situations
  • Standard, heavy-duty coupler
  • Breakaway kit included
  • Zinc plating provides corrosion resistance
  • Bolt-on installation

Specs:

  • Application: hydraulic drum brakes
  • Ball size: 2-5/16"
  • Mounting: 3" wide channel tongue
  • Capacity: 8,000 lbs
  • Maximum tongue weight: 800 lbs
  • 1-Year warranty

When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

Because this model does not include a reverse lockout, it is recommended that you equip your trailer with free-backing brakes so that you can drive in reverse without triggering your trailer's brakes.

  • What is the Total Tongue Travel for the 2011 Titan 6 Actuator
Hey Walt! I don't have this spec but I can check and see Dexter Axle knows it. Can I ask why you're needing to know it? Is something broken or are you thinking something isn't working properly?

  • Replacement Brake Actuator for Global Direct GDC-80 Brake Actuator
We have the perfect replacement for your Global Direct GDC-80 brake actuator. Since you mentioned "down tongue" I believe you were referring to having an actuator with drop. If you have disc brakes, the best option is the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Drop - Disc # DM8758811 and if you have drum brakes the best option is the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Drop - Drum # DM8759411. Both of these actuators have a 4" drop, are compatible with a 2-5/16" hitch ball, have an 8,000 lb capacity...

  • Replacement for a TDE LP8500 Boat Trailer Acuator
We don't offer an 8500 lb rated surge coupler, but we might have options that would work for you. If the GVWR (weight of trailer plug boat) is 8000 lbs or less, I'd recommend the Demco item # DM8669113 if your trailer has disc brakes or item # DM8669112 for a drum brake aactuator.

  • Hydraulic Drum Brake Actuator and Brakes for Dexter 8-201 Hub and Drum on Boat Trailer
I have added a link to a help article on everything you need to replace (or add) hydraulic drum brakes, but let's start with the actuator. What you need to know is the weight capacity you need, the hitch ball size you are coupling to, and the size of your channel to mount the coupler (though there are also couplers for A-frames, though it doesn't sound like that's what you have). For example, the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Drum Brakes # T4079200 has an 8,000 lb capacity, couples...

  • What Brake Actuator Replaces The TDE Model LP8000 Class IV Actuator
I do have a solution for your you. The replacement brake actuator that you need is either the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc - 2-5/16" Ball - 8,000 lbs, part # T4747220, which will work if your trailer has disc brakes or the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Drum - 2-5/16" Ball - Bolt On - 8,000 lbs, part # T4079200, which works for trailers with drum brakes. I have included product description links and video demo links below.

  • Recommended Replacement Actuator for a TDE Model LP8000 Class lV Actuator
We have a couple of options for replacing your TDE model LP8500 actuator. The Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator item # T4079200, you were looking at, will work great if you have drum brakes. If you have disk brakes you will need item # T4747220. These actuators have a slightly lower capacity at 8,000 lbs but this will still be sufficient on your Mastercraft X46 trailer.

  • Replacement Titan Brake Actuator for Titan 3241639
We've checked the part number you gave us before and the replacement for it is the part # T4750820 which is for disc brakes. This one does come with a reverse lock out solenoid. If it has rust all over it I'd consider just replacing the entire thing and starting over with everything new. If you can get me the capacity of your axles and the bolt patterns I can help you pick out stainless steel brake components that won't rust as well.

  • Replacement for Titan Model 6 Trailer Brake Actuator
That is a great photo, thank you; and while there are certain repair parts available for a Titan Model 6, I recommend replacing it altogether. The reason for this is the corrosion looks to have taken its toll on the actuator, and is at the point where a replacement makes the most sense in terms of safety and value. The Titan Model 60 is still a good option, and the right one will depend on if you have disc or drum brakes: - Disc Brakes: Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Disc - 2-5/16"...

  • How to Reset Breakaway Lever on Titan Model 6 Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator T4079200
On a Titan model 6 actuator like # T4079200 the breakaway reset procedures is as follows: When the break-away lever is engaged, it is in the vertical position. It must be reset before the trailer is moved. First, carefully loosen the pressure line fitting to the master cylinder to relieve hydraulic pressure. Then remove the four bolts that secure the master cylinder assembly to the outer case. The flat front tab of the “U” shaped break-away spring can then be placed in the top notch...

  • Solution for Banging During Starts and Stops with Titan Model 6 Actuator on Trailer
It's a bit hard to tell based on the picture but it does look like you might have an older Titan Model 6 Brake Actuator like our 8K # T4079200. If this is the case then you can use the Replacement Shock # T1242600 to resolve the issues you're having. The banging that you described is absolutely a common symptom of a bad shock component, so this should be all that you need. I have attached a short video review below that you can check out as well.

  • Recommended Replacement Actuator for GDC-80
We've got some nice options to replace the GDC-80 actuator you've got that will bolt up to a 3 inch channel tongue. I recommend using the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Disc # T4747200 (for disc brakes) or the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Drum # T4079200 (for drum brakes), which both have 8000-lbs capacities and fit 2-5/16" hitch balls, so they're the same specs as your GDC-80.

  • Can the Check Valve on a Titan Drum Brake Actuator be Removed for Use with Disc Brakes
Technically, the check valve on the drum actuator, # T4079200, can be removed. However, it is not recommended to do so because you could end up damaging the master cylinder. It would be best to go with the appropriate actuator, # T4747200. You could also replace the master cylinder in the drum brake actuator using the disc brake master cylinder # T1777405.
