• Recommended Replacement Actuator for a TDE Model LP8000 Class lV Actuator
  We have a couple of options for replacing your TDE model LP8500 actuator. The Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator item # T4079200, you were looking at, will work great if you have drum brakes. If you have disk brakes you will need item # T4747220. These actuators have a slightly lower capacity at 8,000 lbs but this will still be sufficient on your Mastercraft X46 trailer.

• Replacement Titan Brake Actuator for Titan 3241639
  We've checked the part number you gave us before and the replacement for it is the part # T4750820 which is for disc brakes. This one does come with a reverse lock out solenoid. If it has rust all over it I'd consider just replacing the entire thing and starting over with everything new. If you can get me the capacity of your axles and the bolt patterns I can help you pick out stainless steel brake components that won't rust as well.

  It's a bit hard to tell based on the picture but it does look like you might have an older Titan Model 6 Brake Actuator like our 8K # T4079200. If this is the case then you can use the Replacement Shock # T1242600 to resolve the issues you're having.   We've got some nice options to replace the GDC-80 actuator you've got that will bolt up to a 3 inch channel tongue. I recommend using the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Disc # T4747200 (for disc brakes) or the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Drum # T4079200 (for drum brakes), which both have 8000-lbs capacities and fit 2-5/16" hitch balls, so they're the same specs as your GDC-80.

• Can the Check Valve on a Titan Drum Brake Actuator be Removed for Use with Disc Brakes
  Technically, the check valve on the drum actuator, # T4079200, can be removed. However, it is not recommended to do so because you could end up damaging the master cylinder. It would be best to go with the appropriate actuator, # T4747200. You could also replace the master cylinder in the drum brake actuator using the disc brake master cylinder # T1777405.

  The mounting hole pattern is different on the # T4853100 coupler versus the pattern on the # T4079200 coupler. As you can see in the attached photos the bolt pattern is closer together on the side of the # T4079200 coupler than on the # T4853100.
