Video Transcript for Redarc Brake Controller 331-TPH-010 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Red R Plug and Play Wiring Harness for the Tow Pro Trailer Brake Controllers. Now this is vehicle specific so to ensure that it's a fit your vehicle, you can use the vehicle fit guide which is located at etrailer.com. This wiring adaptor is designed to really help ease the installation of your Red R Tow Pro Classic or Tow Pro Elite Electric Brake Controller. The custom connector end plugs into the port beneath your vehicle's dash and the other end plugs into your Tow Pro Electric Brake Controller. Now if you're using this on the Tow Pro Classic, some wire splicing is required for that installation. But on the other applications, it's a plug and play installation and it's ready to go. So really nice design.

The plugs, they snap in so they lock together once they're connected to the appropriate port so that ensures a nice tight connection fit. And then as you can see, all the wiring has this protective mesh coating or jacket that goes around and that keeps the wires bundled together, that way they don't hang loose and they don't interfere with anything else that they're running next to or above. They don't droop down next to the brake or accelerating pedal or anything like that.Really nice design. Very well built unit and again, this is designed to ease the installation of your Red R Tow Pro Classic or Tow Pro Elite Electric Brake Controller. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Red R Plug and Play Wiring Harness for the Tow Pro Trailer Brake Controllers.

I bought this harness to connect my Redarc Tow Pro to my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 truck. It connects the Tow Pro control unit to the truck’s brake system. It’s a perfect length to mount the control unit on the back side of the panel just below the steering column. Works great!

The Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers part # 331-TPH-010 will plug into the area behind the large black panel located behind your emergency brake pedal. The cover is removed and the harness plugs into the upper left side of the panel. The harness is then ran straight up and the cover is replaced. The easiest solution to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # 331-EBRH-ACCV2 you referenced in your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 is going to be with the install harness part # 331-TPH-010 which plugs directly into the controller and into the port under the dash of your truck without any splicing required. If you instead went with the # 3016-S you'd actually match the wires color for color to the brake controller not the truck and then plug the connector in on your...

In order to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # 331-EBRH-ACCV2 on a 2015 GMC Yukon XL you can use the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers part # 331-TPH-010 for plug-in-play installation so long as you have the factory tow package which is likely you do. • Comparing Factory and Aftermarket Trailer Brake Controllers for a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500
The brake controller I recommend for a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # 331-EBRH-ACCV2 which when paired with the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers part # 331-TPH-010 will be plug-n-play. The reason I recommend this route over a factory brake controller is because the factory brake controllers are very finicky and error prone. We are constantly troubleshooting issues with them which usually...

  • Redarc 331-EBRH-ACCV2 Tow Pro Elite Brake Controller Installation on 2016 Chevy Suburban
Since your Suburban has the factory 7-way trailer connector, installing the Redarc # 331-EBRH-ACCV2 Tow Pro Elite will be a 100% plug and play installation. The # 331-TPH-010 harness plugs into a socket located in the junction box located behind the emergency brake pedal, as shown in the linked video and provided photo. The video shows a different controller being installed, but the procedure will be similar with the Redarc. I've also linked to a product demonstration video.

  • Best Brake Controller Recommendation for 2018 Cadillac Escalade
The brake controller I recommend for your 2018 Cadillac Escalade is the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # 331-EBRH-ACCV2 because this brake controller senses the amount of braking you are applying on your vehicle and applies a proportional amount on the trailer brakes. It also has a very small knob that gets mounted basically anywhere you want on your dash or console. I attached a picture of what it will look like installed. To install it all you need is the custom fit...

  • Can Factory Brake Controller Be Installed on 2018 Chevy Silverado
Based on my research the issue with installing a factory brake controller on your Silverado (post-factory) has to do with the factory harness and programming on the truck. Chevy's official stance is that it cannot be added after the fact. You might be able to obtain the correct components (controller, module, etc) and physically plug everything in but because of the truck's programming/computer it likely still won't work correctly without expensive modifications to the truck's system. ...

The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller # 90885 measures 3-1/8 wide x 5-1/8 long x 2 tall so you can compare it to the size of the dash compartment in your Silverado to see if it will provide a satisfactory fit. Of course, the controller's power, boost and manual override controls all need to be accessible to you so while most of the unit's housing can be stowed in the dash slot you'll need to keep the front part within easy reach. In a Silverado with factory tow package this unit plugs...

For the most part, the Curt Echo # C51180 is going to allow you to do what you're wanting to do; you'll still be able to have the google maps and phone functions available and running while towing.
