EOH Adapter For A 2018 Chevy 2500 With A Factory Brake Controller

Question:

We have a older horse trailer with electric over hydraulic brakes. Our pickup is 2018 Chevy 2500 Z71. Is an adapter would be appropriate or do we need an after market brake controller?

It is possible that we can offer you an adapter which will allow the factory brake controller on your 2018 Chevy 2500 to work with electric-over-hydraulic brakes. This is a known issue for the 2018 chevy trucks. We will need to know specifically what brand/model of actuator you have on your trailer, as the adapters are brand specific.

We have the # HBA-CAM which will work with Gen 6 and newer Hydrastar Actuators. There is also # DX35FR which will work with the Dexter BrakeRite actuators. If you have a different model/brand of actuator feel free to send me that info and I will see what we can recommend. In most cases the correct adapter will solve the issue, but if it is an older model actuator, there may not be an adapter available.

Another option is to just skip the adapter and install an EOH compatible aftermarket brake controller like the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. You can use the plug-and-play adapter # 331-TPH-010 for easy install. Redarc makes a very nice, easy to use controller, and this is 100% guaranteed to fix any compatibility issues with your trailer.
