Video Transcript for In-Depth Review of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock

Today we're going to be taking a look at Curt's hitch lock for two-inch and two and a half-inch hitches. This hitch pin's going to be great for protecting your accessories. Most accessories don't come with locking pins and many don't even come with a pin at all. Well this way you can ensure that your gears going to stay safe and protected attached to your vehicle. The hitch pin attaches to the barrel style lock. It's a nice thick stainless steel, so it's going to be heavy duty and durable. Anybody that tries to take this off, is going to be spending way too much time out here that they're going to draw away too much attention and they're just going to hit the road.

On the end of the lock you have a watertight dust cap. This is going to keep out any moisture, dirt, and debris, ensuring a long lasting smooth operation of your lock.Once you insert your key, you can turn the key to unlock the barrel and it comes off. You'll see here on the inside that it has a rubber gasket that keeps any moisture, dirt and debris out of the inside of the tumbler as well, making it nice and smooth when putting it back on.With this particular style lock, you do have to unlock it first, then slide it on and then you can lock it again with the key. The hitch pin has a three and five-eighths inch span, which is going to be great for two and two and a half-inch hitches. This also includes your class three, four and class five hitches. When you're ready to install it, simply take the pin side, slide it through your hitch and whatever accessory you have in it.

Then you'll want to unlock the tumbler, slide it on and lock it down. You can finish by closing your dust cap. It's not only great for your accessories such as your cargo carriers and bike racks, but also for your ball mounts so you can keep those safe as well as your trailer that's attached to it.The pin comes with two keys for convenience. This way you can keep one with you and keep one at home for safekeeping. Many customers on our website compared Curt's hitch pin to Tow Ready's hitch pin and they both are three and a half-inch span hitch pins and they're both going to do pretty much the same job.One of the biggest differences though is that our Curt here is going to be stainless steel, so it's going to withstand the elements much better than just the chrome plated finish that the Tow Ready has.And that completes our look at Curt's hitch lock for two inch and two and a half-inch hitches.

  • Availability Of Replacement Keys For A Curt Hitch Lock
Hello Mark. The only way to get replacement keys for a Curt 23518 hitch lock is if you happen to know they key number. The problem with this is the key number is printed on the key itself, so unless you happen to have the key number written down somewhere, you are out of luck. The only option would be to find a way to forcibly remove the lock. Either cut it off with a grinder or drill out the lock core until it comes off. Then you will need to replace it with a new one. We do not carry...

  • Can I Carry A Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Or Cargo Carrier With My 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
Great news! We do offer a a hitch for your 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. I recommend the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch part # C13383 because the 2" hitch will be the most versatile when it comes to accessories like bike racks. There are more options to fit the 2" hitch compared to the 1-1/4" hitch. The Curt 2" hitch is a glossy black powder no drill-installation hitch that can handle up to 400 lbs of tongue weight. If you prefer a matte black option for a more rugged look,...

  • Trailer Hitch Lock For 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver
Thank you for the photo, and it is a good idea to verify what you have, which I can confirm for you is a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver. For a hitch lock, I highly recommend going with a stainless steel lock as it will prevent rust and corrosion, and for the best option you will want a Curt lock: - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # C23519 This lock comes with two keys so you'll have a spare on hand just in case one of them gets misplaced, and it also has a rubber cover over the lock...

You may want to add a wiring extension like the 7-Way Connector 7' Loop # 20027 which can be shortened for your application or the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension for 36" SuperTruss Hitch Extender - 7-Way RV # TLW6036 which already fits. For your wiring, I recommend the 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit - Includes Tester # C59496. This will give you a 4 way flat connection. • Replacement Knob and Locking Hitch Pin for Bauer Revolution Swing Away Bike Rack
We do not carry the Bauer Revolution bike rack, so we haven't ever tested any of these parts and don't really have a way of knowing for sure. With that said, I do know that the # SR0018 has a 3/8" bolt with a -16 thread pitch, so if yours has the same bolt on the knob it should work just fine. I can't guarantee a fit but I believe that it would be fairly close. For a hitch pin, it doesn't look like the shank hole is threaded so you should be able to use something like the Trailer Hitch...

  • Will etrailer D-Shape Anti-Rattle Locking Hitch Pin e43JR Work With Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier?
Hello Robert, thanks for reaching out. I do have a locking pin that will work for your Roadmaster Hitch Spare Tire Mount # RM-195225, but the etrailer D-Shape Anti-Rattle Locking Hitch Pin # e43JR will not work with that. The # e43JR is a D-shaped pin designed specifically for the Benton brand bike racks and carriers which all have a D-shaped pin hole. • Recommended Hitch With Best Ground Clearance For A 2022 Audi Q7
The hitch I recommend for your 2022 Audi Q7 is the Curt # C13277. This American made hitch will be a pretty involved install, but once finished will have a clean, stock look as only the receiver tube will be able to be seen. So no ugly cross tube. This will also be great for carrying a cargo carrier, like the Curt # C18150, as it is rated up to 7,000 pounds towing and 700 pounds of tongue weight capacity (which is the one you will need to keep an eye on for a cargo carrier), but you will...

  • Does Locking Hitch Pin part # C23519 have a Weight Capacity
Hitch pins don't have weight capacities because they don't actually bear any of the trailer weight. The downward force of the tongue weight of the trailer is so great that the ball mount is pinned into the hitch so hard that none of the weight is put on the hitch pin.

  • Removing Draw-Tite Hitch Receiver Lock That Will Not Unlock
Before resorting to cutting off the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # C23519 I recommend first trying to clean out what might be preventing the lock from working. Try applying a spray lubricant inside the lock mechanism and letting it sit for a bit. Then use the key to see if you can loosen up any rust or debris that might have built up inside. You may need to repeat this process a few times. If this still doesn't work then the easiest option will be to try and drill the lock cylinder out....

If this does not work after several rounds then you will either need to have a locksmith unlock it or you may have to drill out the lock to get it off of the hitch.
