Question:
I have a GM Sierra 1500 1/2 ton truck with a 2 inch receiver hitch. I am towing a 28ft trailer with a hitch weight of 4100 pounds. I have a hitch pin that came with my receiver hitch. I want to get a locking hitch pin. Can I use a locking hitch pin rated class III-IV. What are the cutoffs for Class 3 vs Class 4? Or class 1,2 and 5? Thanks

I would recommend you go with the Curt locking hitch pin part # C23519. This is confirmed to fit the 2 inch hitch on your GMC Sierra 1500.
Class I and II are 1-1/4 inch hitches that typically require a smaller hitch pin. The Class III, IV and V are 2 inch hitches and the same length locking hitch pins will work.
I attached an FAQ article on hitch classifications for you to check out also as well as a review video for the # C23519.
