Today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt hitch lock.This secures your hitch mount accessories like your cargo carriers, your bike racks and your ballmounts to your hitch, so you don't have to worry about them walking away when you're not around.It is a 5/8" diameter pin, so it's going to work with your 2", 2 1/2" and 3" receiver tubes. It's 4" long, so some of those smaller receiver tube openings, like your 2" and 2 1/2", there is going to be a little bit extra pin visible. That's not going to cause any problems, just something to keep in mind.It is constructed of a solid metal, so it's going to take some pretty serious tools to remove this if you don't have the keys. So there again, it's going to be a great theft deterrent. It is coated with a durable chrome plate finish.And it's very easy to operate.
It's got this quarter turn lock activation. So we stick our key in, give it that quarter turn and it comes off. To get this mounted, you'll put in your bike rack or cargo carrier, line up the holes, and then push this through the opening, put on your lock end and turn the key.So you do get two keys for added convenience, in case you lose one or if you want to make sure that you always have a spare. We do have a watertight dust cap to prevent any water, dust or debris from getting into your lock mechanism and corroding it. Worthless hitch lock. My mount and ball were stolen off the back of my truck with this lock. I don’t think the thief even had to try hard. There was not a single scratch around the receiver after the theft. Not worth the money.
Can't be keyed alike. Too bad, otherwise the locks seem nice

For a 2 or 2-12 inch receiver, we offer # e98881, which can be keyed alike if you wish.

Very hard to lock, just spins. Have to use the key since it is not a push on lock. Curt makes a better one that is a push on lock.
Fits my 2020 Ram 2500 perfectly.

That really sucks, I am sorry this happened. I do need to say though, any lock is a deterrent not a prevention. If someone wants to get it of they will. As you found out sadly.
