Video Transcript for Review of Draw-Tite Hitch Ball - Trailer Hitch Ball - 19260

Today we're going to take a look at the Draw Tite 1-7/8 inch diameter chrome hitch ball, has a one inch shank diameter and a 2,000 pound weight capacity. Now this hitch ball installs onto your ball mount, provides the connection point for your trailer's coupler. This does use the fine threads to provide an exceptionally tight and strong grip. It's made of a cold forged steel, which is very strong and durable and you can notice it has a nice corrosion resistant Chrome finish to it. These flat edges right here, these are built in wrench flats, make it very easy to hold the ball in place while you're tightening the nut.Does include the lock washer and the nut, so when you go to install this, you'll drop this through the ball hole in your ball mount. Put your washer on, take your nut, go ahead and install your nut and then tighten your nut all the way down until it tightens up and then torque it to the manufacturer specifications.

The ball diameter again, which is marked on the top is 1-7/8 inch. The weight capacity, which is also stamped up there is 2,000 pounds. Give you a few dimensions on this. The shank diameter, which is critical because when you go to put this on a ball mount, you do want to make sure sure the ball Mount has the correct platform thickness and ball hole diameter. So the diameter on the shank is going to be right at one inch. Total length is 2-1/8 inches.

And again, it's designed to fit a ball mount that has a one inch diameter ball hole and a platform thickness of any words from a half an inch to one inch deck. But that should do it for the review on the Draw Tite 1-7/8 inch chrome hitch ball with the one inch shank diameter and a 2,000 pound weight capacity.

I went from having a package delivered to my front doorstep, to hauling gear in no time with my latest order placed with etrailer.com.

Before I could go out and purchase a new kayak trailer, first I needed to obtain several products which were absolutely essential in regards to allowing me to actually go out and follow through with my impending buy. From etrailer.com, I purchased a Curt T-Connecter Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Flat Trailer Connection for my 2015 Subaru Forester, a 2" Curt Ball Mount, and a 1-7/8" Diameter and Medium Shank Hitch Ball.

I found ordering online from etrailer.com to be a breeze, with relatively minimum effort having to be put forth when doing so. Everything I needed was simple and easy to find, which overall made my shopping experience all the more better. Surprisingly after ordering, I was notified that my shipping option chosen had been upgraded, and that I would be receiving my goods sooner, rather than later. This was unexpected, though great news indeed!

Within days as promised, my package arrived and I was eager to get to work installing all three parts. The Ball Mount & Hitch Ball required the smallest amount of effort obviously which was good, especially more so, since I was really looking forward to the tackling the wiring harness installation foremost. Online, the specific product page for the wiring harness, featured a short video detailing the complete job from start-to-finish for those doing the work themselves. The video was clear, concise, and done in such a simple manner that success was pretty much guaranteed. I opted myself to Velcro the wiring harness converter to inside rear panel, instead of using the included two-sided adhesive. When finished, you would not believe how clean the entire job looked when completed. As though it was done by a true automotive professional!

Before I knew it, I was on the road, and with trailer in tow behind me off looking for some adventurous fun. Thanks etrailer.com!

I couldn't be more happy, and satisfied with my recent purchases from etrailer.com, than what I am. Dealing with the company has been a real pleasure from top to bottom. I would most certainly recommend them and their products to anyone I know.

Be aware that etrailer's guidelines for review prevent me from explaining my rating. I could give you the good and the bad, but not if I follow the company's guidelines which are slanted to control what potential customers can learn about the company's service.

Ball and mount are solid. I have recommended etrailer.com to family and friends

Sorry I did not write back sooner, it’s has been a busy October. I really like everything that I bought. So far I have only used the hitch for my bike rack. But I am planning on using a friends trailer for some yard work and home project jobs. I am a welder by trade and everything is well built and as expected, no issues with anything. I especially like how easy the electrical was to connect to the factory harness. My friend who owns the trailer recently bought another truck and with my recommendation he also purchased a trailer hitch and the other parts he needed from etrailer.com. I have recommended etrailer.com to literally everyone I know. I really like the products and will be a return customer.

Works well with purchased ball mount

by:

Plug and play - thank you for the step by step install video.

by:

Both the hitch coupler and ball worked perfect for my shopping trailer so I could use my bike to grocery shop. It would be nice if there was a company that made them for a smaller project, like a 1 " ball and coupler.

by:

The Galvanized tire rim looks great and the tire is the same that came with the trailer so Im a 100% satisfied. Thanks for great products.

by:

Exactly what I was looking for and arrived so quickly. This is a good quality towball, clean thread and nut fits well, the ball surface is excellent quality. The long shank makes it easy to get threaded on the heavier class 3 hitch bar.
I had a 2" ball for my truck but needed the smaller 1 7/8" ball for my light trailer and this fits the same hitch without any problem. Now I can just swap out the balls depending on what I'm towing.

Comments
I now have a pair of hitch bars and a pair of balls I can swap between my vehicles. Holding up well and used semi regularly without any issues. Great product and easy to use.

The etrailer Curt Hidden Hitch was almost $200 less expensive than the suburu dealer, without installation. Thank you etrailer your suburu install video was fantastic. Very apprehensive about removing the entire rear bumper panel on my new outback; but had my laptop open in the back of the suv,and installed like clockwork. Hidden hitch has no unsightly drop bars hanging
Below the bumper. Unbelievable price, looks and
Tows great, and saved well over $350 installing
Myself. Suby looks great, and friends are amazed I
would tackle this job myself...This is my 2nd hitch
from etrailer, and I like the efficiency, and detail of your website. HATS OFF to you etrailer. Satisfied customer...

Great trailer hitch, receiver and ball. Installed as promised. Very easy! Recently put it to the "test" by towing a full 6' x 12' rental trailer. Aux. braking system of trailer was not functional and I was concerned that my hitch would not be up for added strain. All during the 2000 mile+ trip, everything performed outstanding. Never once indicating that they would fail.

by:

The hitch was very easy to install, took about 30 min. It fits perfectly to my 2001 Ford Ranger. The tow bar is very sturdy and is very well made! The delivery was fast, I ordered it on a Monday, and it arrived on Friday.
I would most DEFINETLY recommend this to anyone who is considering this for a tow bar.

Still very happy. I definitely will buy from you again when the need arrives. I think of you everytime i get in the van with my boat in tow. Purchased hitch ball, ball mount, hitch extender, wiring extension, safety chain extension, and storage bags for a Jeep Liberty. ETrailer has a great selection of products, with good prices, and fast shipping. We will definitely buy from them again.
We have not had an opportunity to use the items purchased, but anticipate no problems.

by:

I bought this to use on our forklift that we use for moving trailers around. The old one barely had any threads left on it. This one does exactly what a trailer ball should do.

Still working great!

This is my second purchase from eTrailer.com. Their web site is easy to navigate and you are able to order what you need even if you don't know the first thing about trailer hitches. Their deliveries are always fast and accurate as well. Our next vehicle is just about ready for towing. Thanks eTrailer.

Bought the hitch and electrical connection for a Honda.

Everything was designed to fit and connect perfectly. The job took about an hour, mostly for cleaning out the Honda threaded holes in the frame. The electrical assembly was especially enjoyed because everything fit and worked. Having the videos on your site probably made everything happen in an easier fashion.

Both the product and the supplier are highly recommended. Five out of five stars.

I purchased a hitch assembly from eTrailer for my Subaru Crosstrek and have been extremely please with the performance! Installation was well documented, equipped with all of the necessary accessories, and took less than an hour to install.

by:

It fits. Good price. I had some trouble with the lock washer not locking the nut as well as I'd like. Possibly a threading issue? Added a drop of lok-tite and presto.

What else do you say? It is a ball hitch?

A good product and worth buying as an accessory to your etrailer tow hitches and wiring harnesses.

Ordered a receiver, hitch, ball, and wire harness for my 2017 Chevy Equinox. It was shipped the same day and at my house 2 days later. I installed it in the driveway in less than an hour! To make an already great online purchase better with the tracking info was install videos and directions for all the products I purchased. Etrailer.com saved me $210 over taking it to a local rental place.

by:

Excellent merchandise, promptly delivered. The website very helpful with regard to installation. This was the second hitch I have purchased from etrailer - both were very positive experiences.

by:

I purchased a hitch, ball mount, ball and wiring for my Frontier. I thought your people were very pleasant. professional and helpful. I did have an issue with power to my lights but after watching one of your video instructions, I realized that I needed to purchase some additional in cab wiring that was shipped promptly. Just installed it and everything works perfectly. By buying your products and doing it myself, I saved about $150. Nice! Thanks

by:

Solid piece of equipment. Well machine d.

by:

Good product at a good price with fast shipping, but the instructional videos are outstanding for DIY installation. Other than a few easily touched up scratches on the hitch from shipping, it was a very good experience. Did I mention the GREAT videos.

by:

The Galvanized Rim and Wheel are great and the Spare Tire Carrier fit perfectly on the 2"x3" trailer frame, and the tire is the same as came with the trailer, so Im satisfied. Thanks for great products.

  • Utility Trailer Coupler Will Not Secure Around Trailer Hitch Ball
Having a system that doesn't work properly can be a very unsettling problem. If the coupler is not locking on the trailer ball, it sounds like you actually have a ball that is too small. Check out the coupler and the size ball required is typically stamped into the coupler somewhere. Check the latch pin on the coupler to see if it is bent. If so, let me know what the make and model of the coupler is and we can see if there is a repair kit available. I think the problem may be that...

  • Can a 1-7/8 inch Ball be Used to Replace a 2 inch Ball on a Trailer that is Hard to Unhook
No, it is not safe to use a 1-7/8 inch ball with a trailer that has a 2 inch ball coupler. Most couplers have an adjustment for the latching mechanism that may solve your issue. If you are hooking and unhooking on a surface that is not level, normally uphill or downhill, this too can cause the issue you have explained. If you can attach and un hook on a more level surface there will not be as much pressure between the hitch ball and coupler and the process will be much easier. If you...
