Well-made trailer hitch. Have been looking for one for a year for my son-in-law's truck. Would also highly recommend buying any product from etrailer. Prompt service every time.

This is a great all-purpose hitch. I've used it to mount a heavy-duty bike rack and a steel T-rack to carry a canoe as well as lumber. Most recently I hauled 5 x 8 cargo trailers full of plants, then furniture for a 600-mile move. It was simple to use, problem free, very strong and sturdy. Now that I live on some acreage, I see a trailer in my future, so this will get a lot more use. I drive a 2013 Tacoma, so this is a good size hitch at a good price with sufficient capacity for my needs. I do use a key lock for the hitch as well.

I purchased Curt's 6" drop ball mount for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport which is not lifted but has 32" tall tires. The utility trailer I plan to purchase recommends a 12" tongue/ball height for level towing. The Curt 6" drop ball mount places my tongue/ball height at 13.5" which is acceptable. The bottom of my tow ball mounting nut is now 12" above the road surface. Plenty of clearance for safe towing. I'm very pleased with the quality and functionality of my Curt ball mount. I'm looking forward to purchasing a utility trailer soon. I think it will tow very nicely using my Curt 6" drop ball hitch.

Order trailer hitch and hitch ball mount. Good product, excellent service. Nice experience with knowledgeable, professional clerks.

by:

The hitch and ball mount are excellent quality. My concerns are twofold. The hitch is so heavy that I had to take it to my mechanic to have it installed. Minor cost and inconvenience, but the hitch for my previous F-150 was just as sturdy, but easy to install myself (albeit with higher ground clearance). My concern about the ball mount is that the factory told me erroneously that it could not be reversed for a drop, so I returned it. This order is for the replacement after I was finally correctly told it could be reversed and how to do that. Ball mount would have been a 3 for that reason, and overall hitch and ball mount quality a 5. So I averaged them.

by:

I do a lot of off road towing of a 5000LB camping trailer. All my past experiences resulted in bent hitches. This forged hitch solved my problem. Solid and no way am I going to bend this one. :-)

by:

Just your basic ball mount, the product is just like most 2” Hitch ball mounts, the service wasn’t very good though.
Ordered on June 15th (product was in stock) took them 6 days to send it out, took another 6 days in shipping and got all the way to my post office two days before leaving on vacation (I needed it for the vacation) and the post office said “box was empty and they notified seller” etrailer sent a new one (got here a week after my vacation) in a damaged box (packaging is horrible, little bit of paper in a box with a 5 lbs ball mount) almost lost this one too.
I don’t believe I’ll be using etrailer in the future (had issues before)

by:

My order was missing installation parts, but the etrailer team were quick to correct the issue.

Even without a lift, I was able to install the receiver and brake light cable quickly, thanks to their extensive video libray.

by:

Again, Will the eTrailer rep really helped me get exactly what was needed for my application which was a little out of the ordinary. I could tell he had the knowledge and experience to direct me to the correct solution.

by:

Installation instructions came with the hitch and were clear and easy to figure out. Easy installation, the wiring harness had vehicle specific instructions as well and was easy to install, and everything worked as designed when I tested it. I will buy from eTrailer again!

by:

I use these on 7 trucks that tow trailers 32,000 + miles per year. If you want to feel safe with a ball carrier that will stand the test this is the way to go.
I have been using these for several years with no issues and will continue to purchase them. They are heavy but they are durable.

by:

Well made, strong, and nicely painted. I'm using it on my 1994 Isuzu Trooper with OME coilsprings, which gives it a 1.5-inch lift. Center of ball height is 17.5 inches from the ground.

  • Installation of the Draw-Tite 75116 Class 3 Trailer Hitch On a 2006 Mitsubishi Montero
Drilling is not required for installation of the Hidden Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch, item # 75116. This hitch has a square cross tube and has two mounting flanges welded to the front of the cross tube to reattach the rear fascia to after installation (see instructions). There are no extra plates or holes for mounting electrical connectors. You may be seeing a typical photo on other sites, our photos unless specified otherwise are of the actual hitch. Both the Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13534, and the Draw-Tite Hitch, # 75726 for a 2008 Toyota Highlander will install in very much the same way. I have included installation instructions for both hitches below for comparison. I have also included video links showing installation of each hitch. Although the Draw-Tite model has a higher capacity at 7500 lbs towing and 750 lbs tongue weight, you will still be limited by the vehicle manufacturers stated towing capacity, which is a maximum of 5000...

To see the various hitches available for a 1997 Jeep Cherokee, click the provided link. I would recommend the Curt Class III receiver, part # 13160. A Class III receiver will allow you to maximize the towing capacity of your Cherokee. According to the installation instructions, lowering the exhaust isn't required during the installation of the Draw-Tite # 75678 on a 2010 Transit Connect. The instructions do call for the spare tire to be lowered to gain access to the frame and then raised back up into position after the install is complete. The R-Design model likely requires you to remove and trim the rear bumper cover but it's still going to fit. I've lined a video that shows the installation but it's not an R-Design so it doesn't show the trimming unfortunately.
