Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the one and seven eighths inch Hitch Ball. This is going to be a great attachment for towing your trailer that has a one and seven eighths inch coupler.So let's take a closer look at it and make sure that this is going to be the right fit for your application. It's going to fit onto your ball platform. You just want to make sure that that ball platform has a one inch diameter hole so that this will fit on there. And it does have a shank that measures two inches long.
Again, that hitch ball size is one and seven eighths inch. You can see printed on there, it has a 2,000 pound capacity. You want to make sure that that, of course, is up to the standard for your particular application. You want to go off of the weight limit for your hitch, for your ball platform, and any other component in between, including your vehicle and only go off of the lowest number between those.Again, about two inch shank there. It does have nice, fine threads that helps to grip really tightly to hold our ball in place.
It also has flats built in to make it easier to hold onto while you're torquing this down. You do want to refer to the instructions that come with it to torque the ball mount down to what they specify. That's always going to be a really important part to make sure that everything's tight and right while you're towing. It does come with the lock washer and nut to get that tightened down. It's a solid steel ball with a chrome plate, so that's going to help it to resist any kind of rust and corrosion over time.

Works exactly as expected.
I’m surprised you provided a bolt for the ball. You could have deleted the bolt and improved your profits and sent me to the store for the nut burning that $6 gas

Product was great, It installed just as the video's I watched said it would. Packaging: The box was beat to death due to the weight of the hitch. The hardware was loose in the box. It was all there, how I don't know because there were large holes in the box. It would have been much better if the hardware bag was taped to the hitch itself. I have used it to pull my kayak trailer and a bicycle rack. Good product.
