Uneven or jerky braking can make towing stressful. The Curt Echo under-dash controller uses a built-in 3-axis accelerometer to sense how your tow vehicle is slowing down and applies the trailer brakes in exact proportion. That keeps everything smooth and balanced no matter how hard you stop. It works with trailers that have 1 to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies) and supports electric trailer brakes so your setup stays consistent on every trip.
Big brake boxes under the dash get in the way. This one mounts completely out of sight—just 3-3/8" long, 3" wide, and 7/8" thick—so there’s nothing to bump your knees or clutter your interior. The main unit sticks in place with an adhesive pad or zip ties, and the custom harness plugs straight into your factory port. No splicing, no drilling, no bulky hardware hanging down. Once it’s mounted, an LED light confirms when it’s paired and ready.
Instead of reaching for buttons under the dash, you manage everything right from your smartphone through Bluetooth. The OneControl app lets you set maximum brake output, fine-tune sensitivity, hit manual override, and even save multiple trailer profiles. You can swap between setups by swiping left or right—perfect if you tow different rigs. The app runs on Apple 5.0+ or Android 4.3+ and stays connected without needing cellular data once paired.
The Echo’s diagnostic LEDs help you troubleshoot at a glance, while built-in reverse polarity and short-circuit protection keep your wiring safe. If Bluetooth ever disconnects, the controller keeps working with the last settings you programmed so braking performance never skips a beat. It pairs with other OneControl systems like True Course sway control or Tire Linc tire monitoring (each sold separately) for an all-in-one towing setup managed from your phone.
Getting this controller up and running is quick thanks to the custom plug-in adapter harness designed for direct connection to your vehicle’s brake control port. Just mount the box under the dash, plug it in, pair via Bluetooth, and let it self-calibrate. Once the LED turns green, your trailer brakes are synced and ready to go—no special tools or rewiring required.

Still 5 stars, lots of trips including a long tow of over 5000 miles. Consistently worked flawlessly. Mild annoyance that they changed the app but once I learned how the new app worked it continues to function flawlessly.

I reached out to Curt about the problems with the new app. They advised that the new app runs the same as the old app it has to run in the foreground unless they are using the button which is the same as the old app. They wanted to know if you were having trouble getting past that screen. Which type of cell phone do you have and which IOS are you using?
