Question:
I need to settle on a brake controller soon. Camping season is approaching. I am not installing it someone who works on cars is. So, I am just looking for something that will work with my car and not be a major pain to install. Im only towing a pop up. Will this work for my 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz., Premium... ? I think my car is prewired/ plug and play but not sure...IS IT? Do YOU know? what else would I need? I read something about a fuse? Ive been doing some research and there were some complaints about the Curts drawing the battery down when not in use. can you alleviate my fears about that happening with this one? Or maybe that it is a result of incorrect installation. I know already that I need ETBC7L because I only have a 4 pin right now. Thanks :

Hey Karen, so your 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz Premium does have the tow package based on what you have mentioned. So what you need to convert your 4-way to a 7-way and install a brake controller as easily as possible is the Curt 7-way kit part # C68JR which installs without requiring any extensive wiring.
Then for a brake controller I really like the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part number # RED52VR which gives you a proportional brake controller that only puts a small knob on the vehicle dash. To install it your installer will need the harness part # C77BR which will hardwire to the harness that comes with the Liberty and plugs in under dash of your Santa Cruz.

Hi Jameson, Thank you for helping me choose Red52vr and harness part #c77br for my 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz Premium. I ordered the parts from trailer. I have another question. There is a fuse already on my car battery. It says alt 250A. I think it's for the alternator. Can I have 2 fuses on the battery? Thanks
