Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires
Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.
- If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
- If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
- If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
- If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

So far excellent..last tires lasted 15,000 mi. on Mini-Mate motorcycle camper over rough roads. These are going to Alaska and in load range C for gravel and bumps. Wheels have perfect paint and the 3 raised dots in rim recess to hold my new baby moon hubcaps. Popped them on new wheels/tires today and they fit over bearing buddies and seated more firmly and tightly with than I've experienced before with no rattle at all. The tires installed more easily because the center hole was smaller than many old sets of wheels and lug bolts aligned easily and exactly. The Kenda 6-ply have been good in past but was very pleased with last tires(CST) the rubber stayed soft and didn't crack. My spare is also Kenda 6-ply and hasn't shown cracks through 4 sets of tires on the trailer. The new ones look to be of same high quality. They arrived quickly and was able to install between work commitments. After trying to order same on other sites for over a week and get info as to plies/wheel type, etc., I stumbled on eTrailer site and 'bingo' all taken care of and perfectly!

Everything is holding up great. No problems. I expect it to be on the last wheel I should have to purchase. And when the tires wear out this is where I will purchase their replacement.

These wheels and tires are ideal for highway use for long trips. They say right on tire "High Speed Trailer". With the trailer with no cargo, it weighs 530 lbs. With a 600 to 700 lb load I am at capacity with old tires (590 lbs each). These new tires are Load Range C vs my old tires Load Range B. My new tires are 745 lbs range each. They have two extra plies on the side wall. I also updated the springs with the 750 pound range 3 leaf version I bought also from etrailer. The key to success is to inspect the trailer each time you use it for small starting cracks in trailer frame, loose hardware, low pressure in tires, lights, etc.

The way that trailer tires are rated has changed over the years. Currently, the ply rating given to a tire doesnt necessarily reflect the number of layers or plies used to construct the tire. This tires rating is equal to the rating given to the rating a 6 ply tire under the old rating system.

I'm getting 10,000 miles+ from these and like the fact that the installed rims have the 3 little nubs to accept moon discs on my motorcycle trailer. I pull through some nasty places and this keeps my 'Bearing Buddies' grease from picking up dirt. Got 2 sets wheels last time so am set for a while. On an Alaska 10,000 mile round-trip over bad chip and seal and horrible dirt these held up great. Be sure to inflate properly for your application as they come inflated to 60 lbs. (for boat trailers) and my little camper requires 27 lbs. when loaded. Test run them over your wetted driveway to see that you are running on the entire tread, not only the middle.

The wheel & tire were an exact fit of the old wheels. The powder coat will last many years. The wiring harness in the picture was also from Etrailer.com. It simply just plugged it in (I loved that part). That's so much easier than hard wiring a harness to a vehicle.

They’re used on my Vintage 1988 Coleman Columbia Camper I pull to road racing permanent tracks throughout the US during the summer.

These wheels were a great replacement for my "tag-a-long" trailer that I will pull behind my motorcycle. I dressed them up a little as you can see in the picture by adding little black dots to the rim. From a distance they look like regular 12" or 13" rims with holes in them.

The review is more about etrailer process and customer service. They take pride in what they do. The tires that I recieved cost less than a $100. I working on a 1956 cusman eagle. I had to make a template because the bolt patern thatI need is 4 on 3.5" . also had to increase center hole from 2.5" to 2.75". no one had this as needed, I had found a wheel correct for aplication but $200 a wheel. delivered on time by ups.

- Can Vehicle Tire And Wheel Be Used On Pop-Up CamperIt is not recommended to use a vehicle tire on a trailer or camper because they have weaker sidewalls and can fail. Trailer wheels typically have a zero offset and vehicle wheels have an offset so there could be clearance issues with that as well. Also, the bolt pattern could be different for the wheel as well. Its now a year and they are at the wear bars! However, they traveled rough chip and seal and dirt and mud roads through Yukon and Alaska round trip from Colorado. They have 1200 miles on them..5000 more than the last sent went and on sandpaper roads to boot! I want another set of these as soon as they can be shipped!
