Updated 03/04/2026 | Published 01/29/2026

Question:

I need to replace the axle on my 1990 ez loader single axle boat trailer and I need some help finding the right one. Galvanized square tube and it’s 72.5” face of hub to face of hub if that helps. 76.5” over all length. L44649 hub bearings inside and out. Thanks

Hey, Matt!

We do have an axle that is 72" for the hub face but nothing that is 72.5". All of the axles that are 72" long have a spring center of 58". This is the approximate width of your trailer. It is measured from the center of the spring seat on one side of the axle to the center of the seat on the other. This axle beam comes with the spring seats welded on.

etrailer axles part # e78GR is just the axle with no hubs or anything else. If you do need new hubs as well we have part # e37YR which comes with hubs that have a bolt pattern of 5 on 4-1/2" or axle part # e62YR which will come with hubs with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern.

All three of these axles are would use bearing # L44649 for the inner and outer.

These axles are not galvanized. At this time we don't have a galvanized axle that is close to the length that you are needing. There is a Dexter axle part # DX47HR that is 89" long and then the next step down is 57-1/2" with axle # CE33201GA.

Hey Matt, how did things go with finding a replacement axle for your EZ Loader trailer? Were any of the 72-inch options close enough to work for your setup? Knowing what fit best could help others with similar trailers.
