Older incandescent bulbs just can’t compete with the brightness or durability of LEDs. This 6-7/16" x 2-5/16" Fusion LED tail light uses 16 diodes that deliver strong, even illumination for stop, tail, turn, and backup functions. At 12.8 volts, it draws only 0.375 amps for stop/turn, 0.2 amps for tail, and 0.242 amps for backup—so it’s efficient while keeping your trailer visible day or night. The housing and clear lens are sonically sealed into one waterproof unit, so moisture can’t get inside to damage the LEDs or circuit board. Getting a clean fit is easy with this low-profile recessed-mount design. It fits neatly into a PVC grommet (A70GB – sold separately) and accepts industry-standard plugs—a 3-prong for the tail light functions and a 2-prong for the backup light. You can choose right-angle or straight pigtail connectors depending on your setup. The full depth is just 1-1/2", or about 1-5/8" with right-angle plugs, so it tucks in nicely without sticking out.
No need to cut extra holes or mount multiple lights—this single oval unit handles everything. The red lens houses red LEDs for stop, tail, and turn signals while the clear center section uses white LEDs for backup lighting. Both operate independently, so when you brake and back up at the same time, the entire lens lights up as intended. It’s DOT compliant too, giving you peace of mind that your lighting setup meets safety standards.
Rough roads and trailer bounce can shake loose weak bulbs, but the Fusion LED tail light uses durable surface-mount technology that holds the circuit board steady against shock and vibration. Quite pleased with these lights, have changed both of my trailer lights to this product, one standard the other a boat trailer. Recommend.
I do not know why all trailers do not come with backup lights. Now it is possible without all of the extra wiring and lights needed. My trailer came with Optronics/Fusion lights already so all I need to do was add the wiring to the lights and the extra pigtails.
These lights are so much better than the ones that came on my trailer factory. Now I can see the curbs at the boat ramp at night.
Looked for something like this for years. I didn't know they actually made them. They light up the street for a half block. I can back my 20 foot car trailer any where in the dark. The measurements are slightly different from the standard light but they fit perfectly in the grommet. The best part is (I will never have to replace them again.)
Tough to find item! I like to have reverse lights on my trailers. It's nice to have the extra light when backing them into a parking spot, or in my storage spot. 6" ovals with tail, blinker, brake AND reverse lights are tough to locate, but these fit the bill just perfectly. The reverse lights are plenty bright, and provide the light I need to see what's going on.
Product worked exactly as described... made for an easy conversion of my original LED tail lights to upgraded models that feature integrated backup lights.
This is a great product for the cost. It seems to be well constructed and, for me, easy to use. Optronics evidently did their homework. The L.E.D.s are bright and clear. Wiring is simple with the (separately sold) quick connect harnesses. In my specific application, I mounted (4) of these on the rear of my trailer to double up the backup light brightness. They work great.
Upon placing an order i had not received tracking number of shipment and called to see where order was after 7 days. While there was some confusion they found the problem that supplier was no longer making a stainless light bracket and originally said they were 2 more weeks out on getting the powder coated ones. 3 days later may shipment was received in full with everything. Even though there was an error in the order at least you could contact someone and get immediate assistance. This will be my first choice for parts as they have given great service on all my previous orders as well. Keep up the great service hard to find these days.
Perfect fit and match to existing lights
They work quite well. Backup illumination is so-so, but I wanted backup lamps to notify others around me and they are definitely visible even in daylight. No leaks as of the 1 year mark. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was due to the bullet style connectors used on the back. These are not fully waterproof connections. I know these style of connectors are an industry standard, but it's an aging standard and newer trailer manufacturers are wising up and starting to move to more of a "sealed" type electrical connection.
I bought two of these to help me back my boat trailer up the driveway at night. Driveway curves and can be a challenge when it is dark. While these lights are not like headlights, they light up behind the trailer just fine and have made backing up at night quite easy. They are almost one year old and still work perfectly.
Would not hesitate to recommend these for anybody. All you need to add is an extra wire tied to the blue backup light / backup solenoid wire at the trailer connector. I simply ran a blue wire down both sides to keep it simple and clean. No new holes to drill or no trying to figure out where to mount the backup light, the LED light fits in the standard oval trailer light opening with no modification needed other than the new wire.

Only etrailer carries this product, look around all over and never saw this profuct available anywhare else

Product works as it should, i still enjoy the product, the light output is bright, the only down side i have about it, which the reverse lights would have a slide blueish tint to it to mach up my other led lights on the truck , the white on the product/reverse lightover time turns a slide yellow like a regular halogen light buldBut over all great product
The product works well and allowed me to add recessed backup lights to my boat trailer using the existing openings cut into the frame. I would recommend these for anyone who wants to add backup lights and retain good brake and running lights.

I wanted to add the extra visibility of reverse lights on my car hauler so that when I'm backing up to leave the track people can see me and I can see them better.
These lights did not disappoint very bright and operate as intended, I highly recommend getting the pigtails made for them it makes the wiring job so much easier.
I didn't really need them to be submersible but its nice piece of mind knowing they are not going to fail when subjected to rain and elements.

Excellent product, well made. They do the job for my needs. I'm usually backing in the dark, and needed reverse lights to illuminate the driveway markers.

These lights are great. The backup lights work awesome! No more dragging the brake while backing up just to be able to see when I'm backing up.
On a 7 pin round trailer plug connect to the "reverse lights" not the center auxiliary power pin. Connect both of the pigtail grounds up to make them work.
This is the third boat trailer that I have used these lights on. While the backup lights aren't "daylight" bright they do a pretty good job. (it's my understanding that "back up lights" are regulated as to total light output) If you need more light you could always use a seperate "work light" in addition to your regular stop/turn/tail light assembly. One of the nice things about these lights is that they fit in the standard oval mounting hole as a regular oval tail light assembly. Another is that the "white" LED's turn "red" when the stop or turn function is activated.
I like the fact that I can have (at least a fair amount) of light to aid in backing the trailer at night down those pesky dark boat ramps. They also come in handy to alert others that you are backing up.
As a technical note: the back up light gets it's ground from inside the tail light NOT from the white (ground) wire from the back up light pigtail. I other words, if you apply power to the red wire and ground the white wire.......the backup light WILL NOT ILLUMINATE! That does not mean you have received a bad light from Etrailer. The white wire on the back up light pigtail (2 pin,....1 red and 1 white) IS NOT USED. You must use the white wire from the stop/turn/tail light pigtail (3 pin,...1 red, 1 white, and 1 black) as your ground for the back up light to work. The earlier version of this light had the grounds separated.
Awesome lights, nice and bright. Being able to add reverse lights to my boat trailer is very helpful on dark boat ramps. The Combo light that fits in my existing grommet was nice since there was no room to add an additional light.
