Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Optronics Oval Fusion LED, hardwired stop, tail, turn, backup, and warning trailer light. It has the red in the clear lens. Now this oval trailer taillight has a nice smooth, red exterior, and it serves five functions. And I do have this hooked up to some 12 volt power, so we can go through those functions, and see how they operate and how bright they are. So I'm gonna first turn on the 12 volt power, and there you can see the taillight function will come on, turn off our overhead lights.
So this taillight function gives you an outer band of 10 red LEDs that light up, and then for your stoplight, so when you apply your brakes, you can see that same 10 red LEDs will get brighter, let people know that you're hitting your brakes and stopping. And then the turn signal light, when you put on your turn signal, you can see it's the same 10 red LEDs that'll get brighter, and flash to let people know which side you're turning on. And then I wanna hook up the backup light, just so you can see what the backup light would look like. So once we get our backup light, then when you go into reverse, you can see that that center X section, that X lens, it's a clear X lens, has six white LEDs in it. So when you go into reverse, they will light up very bright to let people know you're backing up.
And then on this slide, what's a unique feature is it does also offer a warning light. You can do a warning light, and there's two different wires here. We're gonna first hook up the green wire. So if you just hook up the green wire, it's gonna get you an amber warning light. So when you turn on your warning light, you can see it gets you four amber LEDs that are flashing.
And then the other way is, if you hook up just the orange wire, and then hit your warning light, you can see it's the same center section there, but it's the six white LEDs that are flashing. And then what's even nice is if you hook both those wires together, the green and the orange, with both of 'em hooked up, you'll notice when you turn on your warning lights, you're gonna get it alternating. You're gonna get the four amber LEDs. And then next is the six white LEDs, and then back and forth between the two. Go ahead and turn it back on.
Now this light is 20 LEDs. Turn off our power, disconnect everything. Now it does offer four flash patterns, and those can be synchronized with multiple lights when it's connected with the blue and the yellow wires. Now later on here, I'm gonna go through all the wires in the back here, and tell you what they connect to, but I first wanna talk about the light itself. It is a sonically sealed waterproof housing and lens unit. Makes it submersible. Does use the durable SMT technology, which is surface mount technology. This is the construction of the LED circuit board. It'll better withstand shock and vibration, and allows for improved heat distribution. We mentioned it uses LEDs, so they make great replacements for incandescent lights. They'll last 50 times longer, and they are more efficient. They'll provide brighter light with less power output, and of course, no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments to break. And they do offer lifetime warranty on the LEDs. Again, the red lens right here has red LEDs for the stop, tail, and turn circuits. The clearer lens, this X lens in the middle, has white LEDs for your backup light. And then the clear lens also has white and amber LEDs for your warning light. As you can see, it is a flush mount design, has a built-in black flange all the way around, has the holes in it for your screws. Now the hardwood install, this is not included. You would have to supply that. The very back here, it is hardwired, ready to install, has the wire lengths about eight inches. And then here's all the colors. There's eight of the wires back here. So what I am gonna do is go through them. We'll start with the black wire. Black wire right here is for the taillights. White wire is for your ground. The red wire, stop and turn. And the brown wire right here is for your backup lights. So then the four remaining wires we mentioned, the green wire, it's for your amber warning, orange wire, it's for your white warning. And then the blue and the yellow. The blue is for the flash patterns, and the yellow is for synchronization. So in other words, if you have other lights like this on your vehicle or trailer, and you want them all to operate the same, you can use that yellow wire to synchronize them. This light is DOT, Department of Transportation compliant. It does meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 requirements for automotive lighting, and it is a 12 volt light. Last thing is just the dimensions. So the overall length, including the mounting flange, we put a ruler on it. It's gonna come out about seven and a half inches long. Width on it, the widest point, including the flange, three and a quarter inches wide. Total depth of about seven-eights of an inch, and just the light itself. The light face is gonna be right about six and three-eights inches, by about two and one-eights inches. But that should do it for the review on this Optronics Oval Fusion LED hardwired stop, tail, turn, backup, and warning trailer light.
