How Does Backup Light of Fusion LED Trailer Tail Light Work

Updated 01/28/2019 | Published 01/26/2019

Question:

so, although the brake and taillights rock, it is looking a lot like the backup light section is defective on both of these. using the mating plug I bought when I bought these, I cannot find a combination that will light them up. can you tell me what makes them fire? I understand polarity/etc, but after spending a couple hours fishing wire through the trailer frame on a 20 foot flatbed, I was hoping to be able to use them. I have a haul tomorrow morning with a nasty turnaround at 04:30, and again, I will spend a lot of extra time backing up in the dark in a narrow blind side maneuver.

In order to utilize the backup light function of the Fusion LED Trailer Tail Light # STL211RB you will need to plug in a 2-Wire Pigtail, either part # A45CB or # A49PB for a right angle pigtail. You can see from the accompanying photo of the rear of this light that it has connections for both a 2-wire and 3-wire plug.

This would need to be used along with the 3-Wire Pigtail # A45PB or # A47PB (right angle) which gives the light its tail light functions. I looked up your order from the email address you provided and it looks like you got the 3-wire pigtail but not the 2-wire, so adding that should fix the issue for you.
