Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Fusion LED Hardwired Trailer Light

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Optronics Oval Fusion LED hard-wired stop, tail, turn and backup trailer light with the red and the clear X lens. Now, this oval trailer tail light has a nice smooth, red exterior, which serves four functions. Now we do have this hooked up to some 12-volt power so we can show you those functions. So, we're gonna first start, I'll turn on the power and you'll see the tail light function come up.

We'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights, and there's your tail light function. Now, when you do apply the brakes, you'll be able to see the lights get lot brighter, and you'll see that's 10 red LEDs that are working on that side there. And then when you hit your turn signal, same way, they get brighter, no flash. And the last one I wanna show you is the backup light. And the backup light will be that middle X there and those are gonna be all white LEDs, again, 10 of 'em.

And you'll be able to see when you go into reverse just like, that X will light up and it's all white LEDs. So, when you do go into reverse, people will be able to see that you are backing up. Go ahead and turn back on overhead lights. Go ahead and turn off our power. Now, this is a nice sonically sealed, waterproof housing and lens unit, so it does make it submersible.

It does use a durable SMT technology, which is surface mount technology, and that's the construction of the LED circuit board so that'll better withstand shock and vibration. It allows for improved heat distribution. We mentioned these are LEDs. These LEDs will make great replacements for regular incandescent lights 'cause they'll last 50 times longer. They're more efficient, which means they'll provide brighter light with less power output.

And the nice thing is no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments to break. And it does have lifetime warranty on the LEDs. We mentioned the red lens, which is set inside. It has the white X lens right here. So, the red lens area will be red LEDs for the tail light, 10 of 'em, and then the clear X will be 10 white LEDs for the backup light. This is a flush mount design. You can see it has the built-in black flange on it. Now, the hardwood install, this does not include it. You can see there's one, two, three, four holes for your screws to go through. Now, this is hard wired. It is ready to install. The wire length is about eight inches. Now, the wire configuration, the black is for your tail lights. The white is for your ground. The red is for your stop and turn, and the brown is for your backup light. This light is DOT, Department of Transportation compliant. Does meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 requirements for automotive lighting. It is a 12 volt light. Last thing, just give you some dimensions on this. Let me go ahead and get my ruler real quick. And the dimensions, overall dimensions on this light including the black flange. So, basically, we'll just turn it over this way and I'll be able to show you from one end to the other is right at 7 1/2 inches long. The width on it, including the flange again, is 3 1/4 inches wide. Total depth on this whole light is about 7/8 of an inch deep. Now, the light itself, just the light face length is 6 3/8 inches and the width is 2 1/8 inches.
