Effortless Installation: Custom Fit, Plug-and-Play Design

Installing trailer wiring can seem intimidating, but with the Curt T-Connector’s custom fit and plug-and-play design, it becomes a breeze. Specifically tailored for your vehicle, this harness allows you to easily plug into your existing tow connector, located behind the driver's side rear bumper, without any cutting or splicing. Enjoy the simplicity of a seamless setup and get on the road faster!

Reliable Trailer Connections: 7-Way, RV-Style Connector

When it comes time to hook up your trailer, count on the proven reliability of the 7-way, blade-style connector. Whether it’s powering tail, brake, reverse, or turn signal lights, this connector ensures your trailer is communicating clearly with your vehicle. The spring-loaded dust cover keeps it clean and ready for action, even after long storage periods.

Secure and Neat Wiring: Protective Components Included

Maintaining a neat setup is key to hassle-free towing. The included zip ties keep wires secured and out of sight, while the slit loom provides essential protection against road debris and wear. This ensures your wiring remains intact and safe from unnecessary wear, making towing less of a chore.

Consistent Power for All Your Needs: High Amperage Capacity

Whatever the requirements of your trailer, the Curt T-Connector has you covered. It supports up to 10 amps per circuit for signal and tail lights, 20 amps for trailer brakes across multiple axles, and a whopping 30 amps for power circuits. This high capacity ensures your trailer functions optimally, whether you're hauling equipment or on a cross-country adventure.

Weather-Resistant Durability: Protective Grease and Covers

Keep corrosion at bay with the connector's recommendations for using a small amount of dielectric grease. Coupled with its robust design, this harness ensures electrical connections remain clean and effective, providing reliable performance in all weather conditions.

Accessory Ready: Compatible with Popular Accessories

The Curt T-Connector doesn’t just make installation easy – it prepares your vehicle for additional upgrades. Compatible with essentials like brake controllers, this harness is your gateway to more complex towing setups, enhancing the overall versatility and utility of your vehicle.

Installation Notes

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver side rear bumper. After plugging in the connector, route the 7-way end of the harness along the inside of your bumper toward the center of your vehicle.

Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. If necessary, secure the harness with the provided cable ties.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 7-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

2021 Ford Ranger

The fit and finish was excellent! Installation was very easy especially if you have an extra pair of hands to help lift one side while you bolt the other. Only thing I had to do extra was lower my spare tire underneath and that’s because I have a 2021 Ranger XLT Tremor which has a larger spare tire. Other than that it was a breeze to install. I also added the 7 pin Curt trailer connector that was literally plug and play. The 7 pin connector came with plenty of length to pretty much place the connection socket anywhere I wanted. The class IV receiver came with a tab welded in so instead of cutting out the pre marked section in the bumper, I bought a $5 bracket mount from Autozone and it mounted very clean. Actually going to my brothers house today to hook up to his travel trailer to see if everything is working as it should. My Ranger Tremor came without the tow package but it does have the bumper ball mount that’s capable of 3500lbs and a factory equipped 4 pin trailer hookup. I was nervous that the included rear tow hooks would interfere with the receiver hitch installation but I found out during the installation that the rear hooks are welded to the factory bumper bracket and were nowhere near the receiver hitch installation points. If you’re on the fence about this both of these products (the receiver hitch and wire adapter harness) don’t be, you do not need to be a mechanic to install either one. I was don’t in about 20 minutes including the wire adapter 7 pin.

Toyota Echo

Easy to install. I used this in conjunction with a Curt Echo Bluetooth brake controller. Had no issues, everything worked as expected.

by:

This item is listed as being compatible with the 2019 Ford Ranger. It is in fact not compatible with this truck due to a Ford safety feature which prevents power from reaching the controller to properly configure it. Curt (or etrailer) should actually test their product on vehicles before claiming compatibility.

There have been issues with Ford and the new PWM wiring that they incorporate into their vehicles. With that said I have seen certain things work and not work in Rangers, even the same year Ford's some work and some don't. We have had the chance to have this installed and used on a 2019 Ford Ranger without issue. There are sometimes settings that are able to be made by Ford to fix that issue but that would be something the dealer would need to fix.

by:
2021 Ford Ranger

Be aware you need a bracket and hardware sold seperately to connect to receiver hitch. Also the harness is custom made for the ranger so I do not undertand why the wire is so long. Had to bundle up and zip tie excess(several feet) above hitch.

2019 Ford Ranger

I remember when things weren't plug and play. Those days sucked, lol. Super easy install. Unplug the factory harness, plug in this jumper harness between. On my 2019 Ranger there is a factory cut out in the bumper for a 7-way. So, I used a 1.5" hole saw to make an opening in the plastic bumper cover to flush mount the plug and give it a factory look. Gave it four stars because I'm a stickler for good directions and these didn't specify what the white wire with the ring terminal end is or where to attach it. I know what it is, but what if I didn't?

by:

Works as advertised. Plug and play. Easy to install. If you're wondering, buy it. It'll do the trick.

by:

Easy to use and super easy to install. Not many options for the Rangers, but, this worked exactly as needed. Didn’t need a bracket, I used the stock location in the rear bumper. I drilled it out, drilled the factory bumper back plate and ran 2x 1/4-20 machine screws through it.

by:

Put this kit on my 2020 Lariat ranger. Only complaint was the supplied self taping screw broke off when trying to install and the zip ties was to short. Everything else was very simple easy install. I wanted a factory look so I ordered the Hopkins 7way/4way plug separately.

by:

Perfect fit very easy to install. Would recommend.

by:

It fits like a glove. Plug and play 35 minutes tops with everything. The only bad thing the zip ties were short. But I'm satisfy with the product and I would recommend it.

Short and sweet, I like it! :)

Worked perfectly

The quality of the product was good but service was etrailer customer service was horrible. I ordered a hitch and a wiring kit with free shipping. They shipped the hitch, but not the wiring harness as it was out of stock, although when ordering it confirmed that it was in available. There was an alternative for a few dollars more. I had to purchase the comparable item on a separate invoice and pay shipping on it. Contacted the company with no response back. They should have contacted me before shipping and offered the alternative item, or shipped the other item with free shipping. Again, happy with the product, but not the customer service.

This works well and was a fairly easy install. What's excellent is the eTrailer Customer Support. My first one started throwing errors (when breaking, accelerating, etc) with no trailer hooked up. The eTrailer folks had me try a couple of troubleshooting steps, then shipped me a replacement right away (it was about two weeks from warranty expiring!). This was the 4th vehicle I've outfitted with hitches, wiring, etc from eTrailer. Always great service. Won't shop anywhere else.

2020 Ford Ranger

I found it very easy to install, however it did have a lot of extra wire to role up. I did order the HM40975 connecter and installed in the factory postion on the back bumper. the only problem is that my 2020 RANGER came with a 4 pin connecter, but not the factory tow package. So it is missing 3 wires in the wire harness in the truck and only the 4 pins work. I will have to add the other 3 wires myself some time, as I want to get a camper that needs all 7 pins to work.

by:
2022 Ford Ranger

Great item and fast shipping!

by:
2022 Ford Ranger

The Curt T-connector surpassed my expectations on ease of installation for the plug. The socket part however was a little more time consuming because I decided to mount it in the factory cut out position in the upper bumper instead of utilizing a separately purchased bottom bracket under the bumper..still relatively easy.

by:
2020 Ford Ranger

This item was just what I needed I had the Sleeve from Ford but no cable or plugs to install under the truck bumper and this fit right into the factory wiring for my New 2020 Ford Ranger. If you don't have a 7 way trailer plug this kit will fit! Thanks!!

by:
2020 Ford Ranger

Worked perfectly. My 7pin socket was in very close proximity, so I coiled a pile of wire up. I installed a bumper mounted socket, Ford Part # FU5Z-14489-A versus using the supplied scoket, and the wiring plugged right in. Nice product. I installed my trailer brake controller and this finished it out.

by:

This would get 5 stars if it came with the OEM 7/4 way connector. All Rangers have a place on the number to install that type of plug, but this comes with an oddball that needs an extra bracket to mount to the hitch. I bought the right plug and now have one I don’t need. Otherwise it’s easy t9 install and works just as it should.

by:

My installer was very happy I bought the wiring harness from only had good things to say about it. Works great and easy to connect to rental trailers and my trailers.

by:

Easy to install. Still working fine.

by:

The hitch went in without a hitch. The wiring harness plugged in easily. The mounting bracket for the plug-in didn't match the holes but a drill took care of that. Less than 45 minutes to install! All in all, nice.

  • Troubleshooting Lights With Hitch Cover and Curt Harness on 2019 Ford Ranger
The issue is almost certainly with the hitch cover that you are using after you installed with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # C56431. A number of hitch covers have been known to wreak havoc with Ford trucks and cause faults in the dash when used so I recommend removing the hitch cover and the issue will abate.

  • Parts Needed To Tow Nucamp Tab 360 Camper With 2022 Ford Ranger
Hey Jesse, Cool name. Correct spelling too lol. You came to the right place. I will go into this assuming your 2022 Ranger has no trailer hitch or trailer wiring connection of any kind. So first, for the trailer hitch I recommend the Curt Class 3 Hitch # C13417. It has a 2" receiver and 6,000 lb towing capacity. More than enough for your nucamp tab 360 which looks like would weigh between 3,000 and 4,000 lbs max depending how you have it loaded. Then for your wiring harness use the...

At 3,300lbs you'd be at roughly 94% capacity so you still technically could but it's likely going to sag the rear suspension and be tough to pull.
