Wire Color Code for Curt 7-Way Wiring Harness for Ford Ranger

Question:

I purchased the wiring harness C56431. I want to connect after market LED auxillary backing lights into the wiring harness. 1. What wire in the harness is for back up lights? 2. Is there a wiring. color code available for the harness? Thanks

The backup lights wire you are looking for in the Curt 7-Way Harness, # C56431, is the Red wire. If you test that wire and find that it doesn't have any power, then you will want to check to make sure there is a 10 amp fuse in slot 34 in the engine compartment fuse box. The tow package back up lights are on their own fuse and sometimes manufacturers are known to forget that fuse from time to time.

The color code for this harness is as follows

Black - 12 volt Battery Power
Brown - Tail Lights
Yellow - Left Turn/Stop
Green - Right Turn/Stop
White - Ground
Blue - Electric Brakes
Red - Reverse Lights
