Made from aluminum with a 165-lb weight capacity, it’s built to handle cargo boxes, kayaks, or camping gear without flexing under pressure. The silver finish adds a clean, modern look that complements the aerodynamic design.
Long drives are smoother when the gear on top doesn’t whistle. The aero-style crossbars shape airflow to reduce drag and noise while you’re on the road. Each bar has push-down rubber strips in the top channel that close around your accessory hardware—no cutting or trimming required. Those strips help dampen vibration and keep the ride quieter, whether you’re heading across town or across the state.
Installing accessories shouldn’t mean cutting rubber strips to size. With Yakima’s push-down channel system, all you do is press the mounting hardware directly into the track. The rubber compresses around it, sealing out wind and weather once everything’s tightened down. It’s a simple, durable setup that saves time and keeps your rack looking tidy.
When you park for the night or stop for lunch, it’s good to know your rack is protected. The SkyLine towers support Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores, sold separately, so you can lock down the rack and deter theft. Once fitted, the whole system stays stable and secure whether you’re carrying a cargo box, kayak cradle, or bike mount.
The aluminum construction keeps weight down while resisting rust and corrosion over years of use. Each bar measures 60" long x 2-3/4" wide x 1-1/8" tall, with top channels sized at 7/8" wide x 7/16" tall x 7/16" opening. This solid structure holds steady under heavy loads and comes backed by a limited lifetime warranty for extra peace of mind.

These crossbars were easy to install and adjust. Be sure to get all the pieces you need. There is no mention of the Landing Pads necessary to use these.

Yakima SkyLine Towers are well-designed and well-executed. They easily fit into the Yakima Landing Pads and form a tight fit when closed. And they also fit nicely into the Yakima JetStream Crossbars when following the Yakima instruction manual and various YouTube videos. I did run into a snag at first where I found the rubber seal on one SkyLine Tower getting caught on the JetStream Crossbar track, but after that I was careful not to let that happen with the other towers.
I find the appearance of the Yakima SkyLine Towers to match their level of quality in materials and design.
