Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra ABS Tank Fill Kit. This is a convenient kit for ABS water tanks. It's going to come with your detailed installation instructions to help walk you through the process step by step. I do want to remind you to always use Teflon tape with all threaded connections. We're just going to go over the components of the kit. The kit's going to come with one 1 1/4" straight barbed fill fitting. It's going to come with two 3/8" female pipe thread, that's FPT, tank adapters.
These have been supplied in case both drain and vent connections are made on the main body panels. It's going to come with two 90 degree 3/8" MPT, that's male pipe thread, connectors. They have the MPT fitting on one end, barbed fitting on the other. These are used connecting drain and vent tubing. You're also going to get one 3/8" plug, and you're going to get one 1/4 pint of ABS cement.
I believe that that's going to be four fluid ounces. A brush is attached to the cap, so that's included, as well. Now, fill fittings get installed at the top panel where the top edge of the side panels of the tank body, or the top edge of the end cap. Drain fittings get installed at the bottom edge of the side panels or end cap. Vent fittings get installed at the top panel of the tank, or top edge of the side panels or end cap. Each end cap of the tank has three pre-molded 3/8" FPT drain or vent receptacles.
All you need to do is drill them out for use. One 3/8" drain or vent fitting has been pre-drilled from the factory on the tank, and in that case, you would use the threaded plug provided with the kit, if the pre-drilled fitting on the tank is not used. Includes ABS cement for leakproof fitting.Only used the fill fitting. It worked great. 3 start rating is for including 3/8" barb fittings when water pumps have a 1/2" barb fittings. Why doesn't this kit provide fittings that will work with standard water pump inlets? I easily bought what I needed from the local hardware store, but requires another stop to get what I need to complete the project.
Just what I needed for my new water tank. Comes with installation instructions and even comes with glue! Customer service is always A+
The glue didn't work very good, had to find different glue to make them work and not leak.
All the pieces I ordered was very good. I still need in straight fitting for the vent.
Nice kit, but what can you say, it nice that everything you need is one kit, including the glue.
