These aluminum HD crossbars are made to take on serious weight. With a 500-lb capacity, you can load up heavy watercraft, camping gear, or a cargo box without worrying about sag or flex. The 55" long bars give you plenty of space to spread out your load, while the 3" wide by 1-1/2" tall shape keeps the system strong and stable on long drives.
When you’re strapping down kayaks, tents, or lumber, having built-in tie points matters. Each endcap on the Yakima HD bar includes integrated tie-down points so you can anchor straps directly to the bar without extra hardware. It’s a cleaner setup that makes loading faster and keeps your gear exactly where you want it.
The top channels include rubberized strips that help reduce wind drag and noise when you’re out on the highway. These strips also seal off the channel when not in use, keeping things quiet and improving aerodynamics. You get a smoother drive without the constant whistle of open bars.
From bikes and skis to kayaks and roof boxes, these bars are ready for almost anything. The top channels accept channel-mount attachments, while the outer shape fits clamp-on accessories too. That means you can mix and match carriers from different brands without needing special adapters.
Add Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores, sold separately, to secure the rack when parked. Once installed, you can lock all your Yakima accessories with a single key for simple theft deterrence during stops or overnight trips.
