Question:

I have the Yakima HD Overhaul on my 2018 extended-cab Chevy Silverado and want to add a third HD crossbar to my roof. Since Im not installing two crossbars, does it matter where along the roofline the single crossbar is installed? Yakima has specific distances for 2 bars, and I wondered if this applies to 1 bar.

The custom fit BaseClip Fit Kit # Y06122 which fits your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 extended cab is only designed to roof in the specific places given by Yakima. While you will be able to position the clips slightly forward or rearward of the measurements given by Yakima you will not be able to position them wherever you want due to how the clips are going to fit your door/roofline. Since you are only wanting to add 1 Yakima HD Crossbar # YA34FR you will want the Towers # Y62TR, HD Bar SL Adapters # Y03541 and BaseClip Fit Kit # Y06122 from above.
