Adam: Hi, everyone. Adam, with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima Eyebolt. These are going to be able to work with a lot of different bars. We have the Yakima HD bars here. They're also going to be able to work with the JetStream bars.
Also, the FlushBar and our RailBars, anything with a T-Slot accessory. We have all the hardware to fasten it into place. So let's just go ahead and tell you all about them. What's nice about these Eyebolts is we can move them around. All we've got to do is basically just twist it a little bit and we are going to be able to slide it across our T-Slot on our bars.
Whenever we find a place, you got to twist it into place and then just take a screwdriver or something just to kind of twist it down, to get it nice and tight.Another cool thing about it being able to move is for those, let's just say a ladder or even a kayak. It's always nice to have the tie-down points right on the edge in the outside of our cargo, whatever we may be hauling. Whenever we use the side ones, those straps are going to go all the way around and might not get the tightest most secure fit. This way we can adjust it and customize it to whatever we may be hauling. So these eye bolts are going to be made of steel and they are going to have a nice corrosion-resistant finish to them.
So you don't have to worry about them rusting and wearing down over time. They are going to measure about two and eighth inches tall about an inch and three quarter inches wide. And it's going to be about three quarter inches thick. So in my opinion, these holes are going to be the optimal size because it is going to be able to fit your normal J hooks. But even if you have a double J hook or even just two ratchet straps, you're going to have plenty of room to be able to tie down your cargo properly. So this is going to be a great way just to get, for example, a ladder tied down, let's tie these in, we're going to be able to ratchet strap these down.
It's probably going to be a little bit better than if we we're to use the farther out ones. So whether you're hauling a ladder, lumber, kayak, whatever it is, or if you're just looking for more tie-down points, this is definitely going to get you that custom fit for whatever you're hauling. So what do you have to set up these loops We are going to have a washer that's going to go on top of the bars. But this bottom plate is what's going to slide into the bars. But they give you two different options. We have a thicker one and a thinner one, depending on what kind of bars you have, you can use either or, but the kit comes with both. So the first thing we need to do is remove our cap here. And the only reason we're removing this is just so we can get our rubber inserts up top out.So once we do that, I did already cut these, someone's slide this out. So if we have our rubber already out, we really don't have to remove those caps because they are pretty cool. We can actually install all of our truck accessories with them installed and slide those down. And if you can manage, you can just go ahead and plop this back into place. So once we have it in the spot that we want, all we got to really do is just literally just twist it, ready, tidy. And you can take either a tool, screwdriver or whatever it is just to get it real tight. And that's literally all there is. Well everyone that's going to do it for our look at the Yakima Eyebolts.

Pricey, as all Yakima products are, but if you’ve selected Yakima as your vendor of choice for your rack system, you will most likely find these eye bolts handy for us with tie down straps and/or hooks.

One year later, they look as good as new. I use these all the time, due to their versatility and Mobility.
I bought this item as a gift for Christmas. He has to have Yakima stuff so hopefully it will be okay.
Great addition to my Yakima OverHaul HD rack. I’m using the eyebolts to secure my paddle boards to my rack. They work perfectly.
These work as expected, will be using these to for additional security when traveling with my kayaks as opposed to running the strap to the front bumper. Also, will be using these to secure the awning on my truck when deployed.
