Driving long distances with gear on the roof can bring a lot of wind noise. The aerodynamic shape of the Yakima JetStream crossbars helps cut that down. The rubber strips in the top channels fill the gaps to reduce vibration and whistling, so the ride stays quieter and smoother on the highway.
Many racks make you cut rubber strips to fit your accessories. With this setup, you just press your hardware into the channels—the rubber strips push down and close back around the mounts. It’s cleaner, faster, and keeps the bars sealed against wind and weather without any extra cutting or adjusting.
Whether it’s a kayak, bike, cargo box, or skis, these aluminum crossbars are ready for it. The aero-style design works with both channel-mounted gear and clamp-on carriers from most universal setups. That means you can mix and match attachments for different trips without needing a new rack every time.
When you’re loading up for a weekend away or a long road trip, you want bars that can handle it. The aluminum construction gives solid strength while keeping weight down. The system supports up to 165 lbs—just remember to follow your vehicle’s maximum roof load capacity to stay safe and stable on the road.
The BaseLine towers mount securely to your vehicle’s naked roof for a custom fit that stays put even on long hauls. You can also add Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores (sold separately) to help deter theft of your rack when parked overnight or at a trailhead. It’s a simple way to protect your setup wherever you go.

Tghe racks have remained on since I installed them correctly, no thanks to your video. I read the manual it came with.
