Is this right for you? Product Expert Kathleen M says:
Yes, if you:
Travel with a small fleet of boats -this allows you to haul up to 4 (if you get a couple extra straps)
Park your car in a garage and would rather just fold down the rack instead of taking it off every time
Have lots of gear to bring with you and need to free up space in your truck bed by mounting the kayaks to your roof or ladder rack
No, if you:
Need to transport kayaks longer than 10’
Have a boat that can easily get damaged from riding directly on the roof bars
Worry about the rack getting snatched if you leave it on your roof while you’re out paddling

We needed a better way to haul around 3 kayaks and after looking at a number of options, we settled on the Thule Stacker setup. Installation is simple and the stackers provide a sturdy option for hauling multiple kayaks. One of the best features is that they fold down when you don't need to use them.
My shopping experience with etrailer was smooth and shipping was prompt.815162
Its been a year and were still enjoying the Stacker setup. We have been hauling around our kayaks to local lakes every other weekend or so, and have had no issues. I have been double checking the hardware and occasionally do have to tighten a mounting knob or two. Im happy that we made this purchase and hope to continue using them for years to come.

My wife uses these to carry two small kayaks in the roof of her Subaru. They work great and we very happy with the purchase. She also likes finding her car easier in the parking lots, even with the carriers folded down. 670771
No issues after a year would definitely purchase again.

Looked everywhere to find a kayak rack that would fit on an existing 08 Xterra with a manufacturer storage rack and crossbar support. etrailer site had what I needed. They had a "blog" describing that this would work, with extension bolts (which they also supply). Received the system within 4 days, installed it in about 15 - 20 minutes on the manufacturer rack. Holds up great, first trip we traveled about 250 miles round trip with two kayaks on top (about 80 lbs total), in 20 - 30 mph winds. No problems at all. I am extremely happy with this system. I do use a few rubber cabinet liners cut and placed on the crossbars to help the kayaks from sliding (this is also very helpful). I have read a few reports of the boats coming lose, but have not had any issues. I have enclosed a few pictures to show how they install as well as how boats were secured.406809
Basically easy to use but roof racks are always a bit awkward to put on and tighten. Was able to transport 3 10ft kayaks on a 2011 and 2017 Subaru Outback with factory racks. My only issue is the clipping ratchet tie downs that come with the rack, the clip is small and often gets caught on the nylon handles on the kayaks. The Grove is sharp and can get tricky to unhook. I personally traded them out for the simple open hook on the racket.1381219

This carrier allowed me to easily carry 4 kayaks, it was easy to install and even easier to use. The etrailer team was also very easy to work with, following up a few days after rack arrived to ensure I was able to install and see if I had questions. They also provided the same support and follow up on the trailer hitch that I purchased before too.1313810

These were easy to install and use. I do recommend this carrier for multiple kayaks transport. 184975
Do the kayaks sit directly on the Thule cross bars? Do you for see a problem rubbing, since there doesnt appear to be any type of padding between the kayak and the rails?

The kayaks sit on the Rhino Rack bars and against the Thule carrier stems and rubbing is not an issue because they should have direct contact anyway. The straps keep them tight to the carrier stems and rack barsno padding needed. This was the best system for us!

This is an easy to use rooftop system. I don’t regret my purchase and would recommend it to others looking for a simple to use system.1012574
This is a well built system. This was laced onto a 2011 Toyota Highlander with factory rails. It is difficult to tell when the hardware is “tight enough” since the attachment clamps bend and conform to the shape of the rails. Since the Thule Stacker is deigned to hold up to four kayaks, there is no cradle to hold kayaks in place(expect some slipping when driving). To mitigate the slipping as well as piece of mind when tightening down the clamps, I purchased some neoprene rubber sheets to place under the kayaks as well as under the clamps to improve grip on the rails.1121187

Love this stacker rack! Wanted to get something that can carry 1-6 boats, and it works perfectly! Folds down nicely on the roof to fit in the garage when not in use. Carries up to 4 boats on my Chrysler Town & Country; up to 6 on the bars of my buddy's pop-up camper roof (extra straps are required for more than 2 boats). Durable, as are pretty much all Thule products. Would highly recommend!251004

They Work Well, but Depending upon your position of the roof racks you may get wind whistle if you don't have the kayaks up there, otherwise with the kayaks it was great easy to use and mount on my Rhino Rack, wish they had a front wind cover that would mount and prevent wind Whistle.
They definitely worked well with 2 kayaks up there, I will be trying with 3 in July. 385478

The Stacker worked perfectly! We needed to haul 2 kayaks, and when we began to suspect that my 2014 CR-V cross rails weren't wide enough for the Thule J-Style carriers I kept looking. Well, The Stacker was the perfect solution. Mounted in the center of the rails, to accommodate two Kayaks. Watching the video provided on etrailer page was very helpful, as we have never tried to use anything like this before. These brackets are so very sturdy, and with kayaks attached, were so stable. The straps provided were sturdy too, and easy to use. Being able to use these two brackets, instead of having to buy two sets of J-style hooks was a huge money saver. Thanks to etrailer.com I was able to figure all of this out, using descriptions, reviews, videos and Q&A's available as I was trying to work out a solution. Thank you etrailer. 137486

great product well documented installation instructions. Durable and kayaks are secure. Only negative is the roof rack clamp created a leak in driver side window that I have made a few adjustments but a slight leak continues. 554760

Received the rack on time as promised. Unfortunately UPS smashed the box and repacked it. eTrailer responded immediately and sent a replacement. The rack fit my 2011 Santa Fe perfectly and worked as advertised. I highly recommend eTrailer for their products and customer service. 688541

Great product. Explanation of what we needed before we bought the product was excellent! Have loaded 4 kayaks easily for a couple trips. Very happy we purchased this instead of a trailer. Easy to take on and off and light to use on both vehicles allowing us to carry on kayak trip so we do not leave kayaks while retrieving other vehicle. 216308

The picture shows the stacker in the down position. Very easy to install and raise to tie the kayaks to the two upright Stackers. After you remove the kayaks, simple to loosen a knob and lay the stackers flat so that you don't hear any wind noise when you are driving. Or you can just remove them until the next time you go kayaking. This allows us to carry two of our plastic river kayaks. If we buy another set of the Stackers, we can carry a total of 4 river kayaks.223495

Would have given 5 stars but one of the bow/stern ropes was frayed a bit in the middle of the rope. Came from the factory that way as the plastic bag it was in was completely in tact.1056990
You can mount up to four kayaks to the Thule Stacker - Rooftop Multi-Kayak Carrier, item # TH830. Additional straps and tie downs may be required.

For a kayak carrier that can carry up to 4 kayaks and would work on the Rola Roof Rack 59734 that you referenced you would want the Thule Stacker part # TH830.
The # TH830 is designed to fit crossbars that are up to 3-1/8 inches in width, which is the exact width of the crossbars of the 59734 so it should work very well for you as long as your crossbar spread is 24 inches and your kayaks are not over 10 feet long. I attached a review video for this carrier for you to check out also.

Yes, the Thule Stacker Kayak Carrier # TH830 will fit the factory crossbars of the roof rack that is on your 2014 Kia Sportage that are 2-1/2 inches wide. view full answer...
It all depends on the height of each of the kayaks. You would have to line them all up on their sides and measure the overall width at the center. If greater than 50 inches you would be limited to 3 kayaks more than likely.
There is also the weight issue. I do not know what the capacity is of your Malone roof rack so you would need to check that versus the weight of all 4 kayaks. Also you will need to consult the vehicle owners manual and/or manufacturer for the weight carrying capacity... view full answer...
The Thule The Stacker # TH830 that you referenced is designed to carry up to 4 kayaks at once. So as long as you have a roof rack on your Honda Odyssey and/or Subaru Outback that has the weight capacity for the weight of your 4 kayaks this carrier should work well for you as this carrier is designed to fit nearly all cross bar shapes.

I wasn't sure what years to look up so I did 2007 which was the last model year for the Ford Freestyle. On it, with the seats folded down I was able to find that the cargo space is 47.4 cubic feet.
A 2007 Chrysler Town and Country has a maximum cargo volume of 129 cubic feet. It was unclear how many seats would have to be folded down or removed to get to that number though. With all of the seats in place it drops down to just 23.5 cubic feet. view full answer...
The Rhino Rack J Carrier part # S508X is no longer available. The best recommendation I could make that is designed to carry up to 4 kayaks would be the Thule The Stacker part # TH830.
This carrier would not install in the track of your crossbars though. Check out the review video I attached.
Be sure not to exceed the roof capacity of the vehicle you plan on carrying your kayaks with. Check your owners manual for that capacity. view full answer...

You should be able to get 2 kayaks on the factory roof rack on your 2011 Chevy Equinox. For a kayak carrier that fits the factory roof rack crossbars you can use the Stacker, # TH830. The carrier you referenced will not fit the factory crossbars.
Because the Stacker secures the kayaks when they are on their sides there should be plenty of room for both kayaks. Be sure to check the roof rack capacity prior to loading anything on the rack. I have included links to the instructions and a... view full answer...

As long as your OEM crossbars are no wider than 3-1/8 inches and the center to center bar spread can be adjusted to at least 24 inches apart, the Thule Stacker Kayak Carrier, part # TH830 will work just great for you.
The Stacker can carry up to 4 kayaks up to 10 feet long. You will want to make sure the weight of your kayaks does not exceed the weight capacity of the roof rack or the roof itself.

Carrying 2 Kayaks on the roof of your 2011 Mazda 3 with the Rola Sport Series Roof Rack 59832, may be possible, but you will need to keep within the capacity of the vehicle roof, see owners manual, and make sure the width of the Kayaks stacked together do not exceed the width of the roof rack. The length of the kayaks may also be an issue you need to take into account.
If all of the above conditions are met by your kayaks and vehicle, I would recommend using the Thule The Stacker, item... view full answer...

The Thule Stacker # TH830 is designed to carry up to 4 kayaks at a time so for a setup like yours that only needs 3 you'd be totally fine. There wouldn't be any type of balance issue either. Two would go on one side of the upright and one on the other and you'd be set.
Be sure not to exceed the weigth capacity on the roof of your 4Runner either. That will be listed in the owners manual. view full answer...
The great thing about the Thule Stacker part # TH830 is that the uprights can be folded down when not in use so that you don't affect fuel mileage as much. One of the key things that allows a kayak to be carried on a Thule Stacker part # TH830 is that you can attach straps to the front and back of the kayaks with their anchor points.
