Product is good but shipping poorly packed. It came with both sides of the packaging broken open and the hitch hanging out. Scratched up down to bare metal. Also the decals the put on for the hitch rating fell off in shipping

The quality of the hitch is excellent, 5 stars. We ran into a slight issue with our 2019 Kia Sorrento LX in Minnesota, where the drivers side M10 bolt hole is rusted and we’re unable to get that particular bolt to thread in. We will re-thread the hole and it’ll be fine, just one of this unforeseen problems you run into when doing your own maintenance on a vehicle. The hitch though, is great so far. Perfect fit for the vehicle. If I had one complaint I’d say I wish the bolts were physically labeled better or being able to figure out the difference between 1/2” and 7/16”, I mean logic told me that 1/2 is bigger, but some people might not know the difference!

The trailer hitch is outstanding except for one problem. When you mount everything...you cannot access the bolt to lower the spare tire. You have to use a wrench because the hitch is in the way.

The product is great other than always having a 11mm wrench on hand to get the spare wheel off because the hitch is in the way of the rotating thing to lower than wheel.

Easy install. Great product. I use this hitch with a Kuat bike rack and it's solid. I would buy it again! I had very little help installing with 2 friends. The most challenging part was aligning bolts with the frame but this was expected and we completed the task within an hour.

box has been penatrated by hitch multiple places, and where ever box is penatrated, hitches powdwer coating is chipped off!
VERY POOR QUALITY PACKAGING!!!
I am not a powder coater to fix! to just paint to repeir will look like CRAP on this $40k car!!

Really happy with the quality of the hitch. Installation wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be everything lined up great. I highly recommend watching the etrailer installation videos before installing the hitch and wire harness. Great products and arrived earlier than expected. If I need another hitch in the future it will come from etrailer.

Use it all the time. I was rear ended a few months ago and the hitch saved my car from serious damage. It also passed inspection after the collision and is still holding strong!

Product look decent. Packaging and shipping needs major improvement to prevent scratches and chips of coating. It might have better protected the side of the hitch receiver if it was wrapped or secured to the box like the middle part.

Im sorry to see that your hitch has received some scratches on it due to shipping. This does tend to happen and when it does, we recommend using a Rust-oleum type paint to cover up any scratches and prevent corrosion in the future during use. I have a link below for your reference. Both the hitch and the wireing kit wher easy to install and work great . The first wireing kit was not the right one for my car but I sent it back with no problem and with instruction's the right one instaled just fine .

had one hole a little off, front right rear, hard to tell if from hitch or frame of vehicle. had all bolts loose and was able to get all in and torqued.

Have had the hitch for a year and use it regularly to tow my fishing boat (and several U-Haul trailers). Easy install from good instructions and it looks as good now was when first installed. The paint is not showing any wear.

Seems very well made. Overall experience with ordering was simple. The service rep was knowledgeable and polite. I have not yet installed the hitch but the instructions seem easy to follow. My only concern was the packaging. The hitch just came in a heavy duty cardboard box. With no additional padding so to speak around the hitch. I did expect that though and I asked the rep how it was going to be packaged before I ordered. No damage was done during delivery. Anyway great hitch it’s not for show so who really minds of there are a few scratches here and there. Can’t wait to install and use it. Thank you.

2016 Kia Sorento
Installed direct to my 2016 Kia Sorento with no drilling. You have to remove the muffler and the heat shield above the muffler, but they were easy to remove. There are three studs to hold the heat shield, and one almost touching the hitch so I had to cut a slot in the heat shield to slide it over that stud, and I couldn't reinstall the nut on that stud, but the other two installed fine. I installed it by myself, so it can be done, but a helper will make it easier.

Unit fits fine but does block the spare tire mechanism just enough that it can no longer be lowered with the supplied wrench from Hyundai. I will have to purchase a 7/16 gear wrench in order to lower/raise spare tire.
Bag of hardware was not properly protected and the rough handling during shipping managed to rupture bag. Large bolts still in box but 2 nuts, 2 washers, and 1 smaller bolt were missing. The shipper had managed to wear holes in the cardboard box which allowed hardware to escape. The bag is very thin plastic and the weight of the larger bolts broke it open. Could easily be avoided by taping over entire hardware bag. Would have saved me a tripped to the store to finish the install.

Quality product! The instructions were clear, accurate and complete with torque specs for the bolts. The installation video, that was shot on my exact car, told exactly what would have to be moved to install. The hitch is well engineered to fit over and under exhaust etc. and to line up perfectly with the bolt holes in my frame. With help to lift, it was installed in about a half hour. The textured finish looks great too. Great product, pro-active customer service, good price and prompt shipping. Highly recommend this company

2018 Kia Sorento
I was supper impressed buy the deliver time! The box was open on one end, but all parts were there! I’m using this hitch to allow me to take my scooter with me on the car! I reached the point I can hardly walk thanks to Agent Orange and 3 trips to Viet Nam! As soon as we finish watching the grandkids we are back to San Antonio where I’m finally going to go back to the VA and ask for help. So until then I really appreciate you getting the hitch so fast!

2017 Kia Sorento
This is the second hitch that I have ordered from etrailer. I giving it a 5 star because it did fit. When I opened the box there were places that were wore down to the bare metal. I had some flat black spray that i used to cover the metal. I think it could packaged better. It should have in great big letters that all "BOLTS ARE NOTE SAME". I failed to see that the bolts were different dia. going through the frame. I got one stuck and cost me a lot of time. This is my fault! I couldn't get the rubber muffler hanger off the right side. After I removed the wheel it was easy. Steering is easier to turn, you can tell the weight has changed on the car. I might try to find some small rubber spring bumpers for the rear coils. Just like to feel the front wheels with more contact to the road. My last hitch looked good til I sold my car and hope this one is the same.

When your trailer hitch has paint that has flaked off, covering the bare spots with spray paint is a great idea and what we recommend. Ive attached an installation video of this hitch on a 2018 Sorento. Around the 5:55 mark our installer calls out to use the smaller size carriage bolts on the passenger side. Your tip of taking the tire off to get better access to the muffler hanger is also a great suggestion. Finally, I checked our fit guide and unfortunately we do not currently have any suspension enhancement designed to fit your 2017 Kia Sorento.

Hitch has worked with out any issues. Purchased a new travel trailer using a WDS. Also purchased Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional. Installed it and works great. If your tired of looking on line for towing accessories just go to etrailer. They haven’t let me down.
