Roof racks can sometimes sound like you’re hauling a wind tunnel on top of your car. These JetStream crossbars have an aerodynamic shape that helps cut down on that noise. The rubber strips in the top channels fill in gaps to reduce vibration and whistling, so road trips feel calmer and more enjoyable.
Getting a rack on a naked roof can be tricky, but this setup keeps it simple. The Yakima BaseLine system includes 2 JetStream crossbars, 4 BaseLine towers, and a custom fit kit made to install securely on a smooth roof without factory rails. You don’t need extra parts or trimming—everything fits together cleanly for a solid, stable mount.
Some racks require cutting long rubber strips before you can mount accessories. These crossbars use push-down rubber strips in the top channels that move aside when you install hardware and close back up around it. It’s a small detail, but it makes adding gear straightforward and helps maintain a sealed, aerodynamic surface that resists wind noise.
When you head out with kayaks, cargo boxes, or camping gear, strength matters. These aluminum crossbars measure 50" long x 2-3/4" wide x 1-1/8" tall and support up to 165 lbs (while staying within your vehicle’s roof load rating). The sturdy construction keeps your setup steady on the road and stands up to years of trips and weather.
You can upgrade security by adding Yakima’s Same Key System (SKS) lock cores, sold separately. They let you lock the rack to your roof so your setup stays put when you’re parked overnight or away from your vehicle.
